Who are you and what do you do?

I'm Haven Vega,
an Alamo city underdog who wants more opportunities for my community and to present my vivid imagination to those around me. It's a fresh start, but the journey is going to be one for the books.
I'm diverse with my sound, I enjoy mostly all types of energetic music- as long as I'm dancing it all makes sense in my head. My inspiration comes from small moments in pop culture and mainstream media, but it won't shatter my originality. My clothes speak volumes, and I'm not afraid to be seen knowing what the world is going to view when I show.
I've gained experience in entertainment, with co-workers or dear friends of mine, pertaining to acting, singing and dancing. I developed my own skills with the computer as I grew up with technology, started self-producing as I wanted to pursue performance and music since I was a kid, meanwhile ending up surprising myself with the combinations of frequencies I put together. There's so much more I have planned, you're in for a ride if you stick around for more than just my beginning.
The world could use another icon, why can't I be that?
Enjoy my sound, enjoy your day, and I hope the stars and planets align for you
Haven
How does your background play into this song?

This song is more of a sentimental moment I shared with someone I once knew, we reconnected once and it was a fantastic time- I'm sure the song is enough proof of what went down. :)
I wanted the synths to play as the more emotional connection I felt in the moment with this person, but the beat is to keep the energy fun and enlightining, the tone of voice enticing; almost serenading the listener.
But I'd like for the song to be interpreted by your own imagination, tell me all about the pictures in your head or the moment you can't stop replaying.
What is your earliest memory of listening to music?

When I was at the cute age of 5, my earliest memory was listening to "Big Girl's Don't Cry," by Fergie!
I wouldn't stop replaying it and I'm pretty sure my mom even got tired of the song but, I still can't figure it out to this day- I just felt a heavy connection with the song and I surely wasn't a girl, what could it all have meant for such a small kid like me?
It may have been the sounds I heard on the track, the way she poured her soul and emotions into her voice just resonated with me. Or the guitar the played softly as she sung her heart out, as I relistened to it 2 years ago I began to understand why I did.
That time I was going through something that I didn't even know about it until it was too late, but it's okay now as I've grown to cope with it and heal from the experience. I'm sure that explains a 5 year old belting deaftone notes to a woman he didn't even know, in an adorable way.
If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?

More money for artists to be paid off of streaming services, open more doors for the LGBT+ within reasonable standards, affect pop culture with my vision and stature of self-righteousness.
This world has grown with more negativity, and I like to believe in humanity when it comes to the good of it all. I've seen the more ugly filters of life, in ways you wouldn't exactly think, and I've grown so much compared to the naivety I had as a teenager. Things are starting to change and look up as I've learned to create more joy and space for myself instead of pleasing, co-dependent relationships made me feel like I was at my lowest. Friendships, heartaches and new connections have brought me to understand more than just my own perspective, I wish other people can see what I see now.
I wish to reflect upon this world with self-encouragement, confidence and unapologeticness. If the world view can change for other big artists like Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Beyonce, then who the am I to sit here and watch some things get done without creating something of my own.
How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?

Femininity isn't an easy concept to understand, it has too many layers at this point- and if you feel the need to simplify it, you're undermining our truth.
I seek to let the world know that the LGBT is completely full of talent and inspiration, most of the things around the world you see today are practically affected by us.
It all stems from Ballroom, the function always knew how to present art and dance in a visual manner that wouldn't have been as appreciative in pure public. It's a safe space for our expression, to be heard all with the understanding of femininity and creativity.
Our history is more than just that, and our complexity is more than what you see on social media- and I will shine so bright so I make the world see that we were never enemies.
Our existence will always be just as important as yours.
What role do you believe the artist has in our society?

Reflect the times, change the standard, and if your platform is more than just a few million- YOUR VOICE IS IMPORTANT.
Artistic influence will always be authentic and the forefront or representation, without art, we are not comforted, we are microscroping our realism and not enjoying what surrounds us.
Even in political and societal issues, art is never to be ignored and will only ever reflect our history the same way our people do.
EVERY VOICE IS IMPORTANT.
What does your dream performance look like?
