Tito G Perspective on all grown

My name is Tito G and I am a low-profile beatmaker dedicated to creating feel-good beats by fusing boom-bap drums with soft melodies using elents coming from samples and jazz recordings.

My earliest memory has to be around the ages between 4 and 5 years old sitting in the backseat of my moms car. She used to enjoy listening to Hip hop and R&B and many other east coast artists.

When I was 12 years old an uncle of mine showed me how to mix music through a DJ software on his laptop. After discovering the imaginative world of music creation I uncovered the art of music production and became fascinated by the skill. After years of learning and making music, I decided to dive into the instrumental hip hop scene and be involved with online communities full of other music producers who shared the same passion. It was at that moment I decided to release music to the world in 2019.

With the rapid pace music is constantly evolving it is very hard to determine the correct title or label to specify which genre this release plays into. Fellow producers may consider this release as "Lofi Hip Hop" others may label it has "chillhop". To keep things as simple as possible for my own peace of mind, I just consider the genre as "instrumental beats".

Three years ago the sound of my beats had a particular grittyness to it. Where as compared to now my sound selections has a more laid back vibe to it. My goal is just to make music that is easy to listen to and not overwhelm the listeners.

After watching Kendrick Lamar's show "the pop out" on live stream, I would love to enjoy a Kendrick show in person. Hopefully one day.

It always hard for me to choose which song of mine is my favorite because I equally enjoy all of my projects. But if I really had to choose I would pick my song "Bruddas" only because it was a collaboration with my younger brother Marckurr, and it is the first time I had a release achieve over 100k Streams. That song will forever be memorable for those reasons and I couldnt be more proud.

A dream collaboration is either between The Alchemist, Cookin Soul, or Flying Lotus. I have a lot of dream collaborations to be honest haha.

I would be a liar if I said I practiced consistently, but a new method that has helped me is to find a song that I enjoy and use that song as a reference when producing a new track. It helps find inspiration and many of the influences can translate well into the song I am making.

Ive had someone tell me that my music has helped them study for school and help them focus on their homework. I thought that was very sweet.

I can think a hundred ways to alter the music industry but my main concern finding a way to alter monetization guidlines for artists when it comes to streaming revenue.

Im always sending my friends a spotify link, there are a few people where I have to do a little bit of an extra effort and get them an apple music share link but regardless sending links is my favorite way.

Scariest experience? Contract signings. Be careful out there.

I definitely have experienced moments where making music will pull me in different directions away from people such as family or friends. It can be challenging to share exciting details or experiences involving music with people who are not tapped in or do not understand the music world. My best advice to counteract any challenge with loneliness while being an artist/producer is to find a community who share and do the same things you do. Ive met amazing people in many different online music communities and in person and the company I receive really helps a long way.

Stop seeking validation or approval, be you and original as possible. If you love a song you made, there is someone out there in the world who will love it as well.

I can typically hear a beat already pre-made in my mind if I hear certain sounds. For example if I find a sample and an idea pops into my head about how the drums should sound like, then its just a matter of drawing it out. If a beat is taking longer than 15 to 30 minutes to sound good enough to my liking, I move on to the next project. The more you force something to sound good the less you'll enjoy the process.
