Lauren Kidd Perspective on All Of You

I feel like I've definitely explored a bit into different dynamics such as synths and samples over the years within the music. In a production point of view, I've also started to play around with vocoders and vocal effects when producing my songs in the initial stages and when I bring them to my co producer. Overall though, all my songs still begin with a base of acoustic guitar/piano and my lyrics/melodies so they still remain true to my "Lauren Kidd" sound.

My earliest memory was definitely being like 3-4 years old sitting in the backseat of my dads grey Chevy Beretta listening to KRock (LOL showing my age here ahaha 🤣) and listening to the old school 90s classics in real time and just vibing with my dad and falling in love with music and expression through it. My dad also played guitar while I was growing up which inspired me to pick up one of his old acoustics and teach myself how to play at the age of 12. That was definitely the beginning of my journey with music.

Ooof. Good question. Honestly, I use it as my own little form of therapy. It gives me a place to unload all of my feelings cause I definitely have a lot of those (lol!), but it also (i hope!) helps people know they're not alone in their feelings. Reaching the right ears where my music can make an impact is a huge driving force for me to continue doing what I love.

Thanks for the question! Well the short answer would be it's obviously about a girl (lol! As if that wasn't obvious), but to give you a better insight into my mind I'd say "All of You" was inspired by the concept of radical acceptance and unconditional love (I know-- what a concept right? 🤣). It's truly about loving someone through their best as well as their worst and (i hope) it provides reassurance that no matter what happens between two people, unconditional love is always the foundation. I think it's the only way a person can and should love. No matter the circumstances, through good days and bad days, together or apart, you should always accept a person for what/who they are. "Lead with real love" as some might say. This is my perspective at least. I hope that answered your question and thank you for listening! ❤️
