How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I can tend to be a little on the confident side. I also am not afraid to tell a rapper I think their music is garbage... Honesty is the best policy.

Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

I am "Gods Only Villain," some may call me "Gov" formerly known as "Governor" and I am a hip hop artist from Paducah, Kentucky.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

Rapping For my little siter at my parents house when I was like 12 yeard old. I listened to a lot of Eminem.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

The moment I decided to be a hip hop artist was my freshman year of college whenever I got blackballed from the fraternity I was in. I wrote a diss song about them and all my homies went nuts over it and told me I should rap for real. So here we are.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Hip Hop/Rap, Trap, Mid South

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Well, I have just been through more life and tragedies since 3 years ago. Real pain and struggle. My music used to blame everyone else for my problems whereas my new album "Good For Nothing" takes accountability for my shortcomings.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Eminem, I mean need I say more.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Ah, everyone has heard Em.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

Controversial, catchy, intrusive (in a goodway).

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

That is really hard to say honestly. I really enjoy my new album and made sure every song on it was just as good as the next on the LP.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

To make an overall positive impact and experience for the listener.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I will not be ignored.

What has been your scariest experience while pursuing music?
Answer:

Flying on a plane.

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

Extremely, at this point in my life I just embrace it. I take the company when it presents itself and I spend my time alone in the studio other than that.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

Give my parents, my children and my closest friends a stress free (or nearly) life. A life where all of our bills are paid and none of us are crippled by financial constraint. Also because I legitimately believe that I have powerful music that could positively affect someone in need.

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Listen to your intuition. There are a lot of shady people in the industry.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

All the emotions, even the ones they don't want to feel at times.

Name three artists you’d like to be compared to.
Answer:

Eminem, J. Cole and 50 Cent.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Zach Bryan, you can hear the soul in his music. Matt Maeson is a close second for me.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

I write, the way I write. If I mess up then I start all the way at the beginning of the song and rap it again until I get it like I want the entire performance so the practice is part of my process.
