We been kicked, punched, knocked over and beaten down too many times to count. This song is about always getting back up again. You're going to have to kill us to keep us down.

After I learned my first Coheed and Cambria song all the way through on guitar in 10th grade, I was so proud of myself. I thought if I could do that I could learn them all. Here we are 15 years later and I am shredding my own songs that hopefully some 10th grader somewhere is struggling to learn!
ANFANG is alt-rock or hard harck depending on who you ask, but this song in particular is the most Stoner Metal release we have ever had. Pays homage to the Sword and Baroness, two huge influences on our playing.
We went from a meandering 4-piece strattling multiple genres to a hard hitting 3-piece that knows exactly the kind of high-energy, dancy riff rock it wants to be about. We oiled our sound down to just the things we love!
Theres an old GRRM addage we love about story writing. We try our best to write songs about "the human heart in conflict with itself." its the most essential and human emotion to be at eternal war with all the voices in our head and all the influences outside us.Choosing to be who we are everyday is something we can all relate to.
I think Coheed and Cambria would be the most fulfilling for me personally (Christian). Im sure Andi and Cam would say different haha. They are the perfect blend of riffs, apprachability, and storytelling. Massive respect for what theyve done.
