Odee O Perspective on TOP FLOOR

My name is Odee O and I make dope hip hop & amapiano music that doesn't involving killing or hurting anyone. I just want listeners to want to have fun and enjoy life and experiences to my music.

I am Bronx, New York so hip hop is fully ingrained into my DNA. Also I have lived in South Africa and I was amazed by the Amapiano sound so I fused both of my passions.

My first memories of listening to music are living in my parents Bronx apartment listening to the radio and hearing pop, hip hop, and eventually watching Video Music Box with Ralph Daniels

The first time I saw Kendrick Lamar perform live, I was like I could do that...that was the nudge to just start on the path. Prior to that I wrote a hip hop song for my 5th grade chorus performance called "Our World" and everyone liked it a lot

Hip hop, Amapiano, AfroBeat, POP, House, EDM,

I have released two albums in the last 3 years and I am releasing another in 2024, and my process has improved, my rap skills and craft have improved and I know myself alot better so my topics are more interesting I think.

I explore cultural freedom, love, Garveyism, US Patriotism, Capitalism, dating, self awareness and self affirmation.

I would go on tour with any Def Jam artist or any popular Amapiano artist so I could travel the world...I would include Nas, 50, and JadaKiss in this list.

Soulful, lyrical but awesome musical vibez.

Biggie meshed with Tribe Called Quest, with some Common and Nas after coming back from South Africa

Probably Biggie, Tupac, and Big Pun to see how they command the stage and spit their lyrics live.

That's a really hard one especially after making this new album "INCUMBENT GOLD" because I have a lot of personal songs for me on here but it's also just my best work to date, but I love "Top Floor" cause it's one part lyrical, one part dope flow, fun but it got a worldly vibe where anyone from anywhere can get into it.

Nas, Kendrick, and Common cause I am going to get wonderful music with thoughtful and insightful lyrics on top...that's the best to me.

My dream performance would look like a mesh between a In Living Color Skit and a Broadway show production with dancers and props

Probably Nas

In South Africa.

To feel like life is worth living and this song is exactly what you are supposed to be doing right now. Live your best life and live in the moment.

Dope, Groundbreaking, Exciting.

Its starting to become via playlist but I imagine that will change into performing it.

Yea I practice writing, and performing my lyrics. I probably go back and edit what I write more to allow me to perform it easier.

Probably just friends calling like YO, this joint right here is incredible!!! Makes me feel so good when the listener feels the way I felt making it.

We are already successful, the music is a manifestation of that success both internally and outwardly

I want to bring fun, peace, intelligence, and unity back to the genre of Hip Hop

Artist help articulate what the masses are feeling and/or thinking but we do it eloquently or with the edge that resonates with the listener. I think sometimes the artist becomes the embodiment of the listeners consciousness or the motivator to the listener needs to reaffirm what their thinking is normal and it gives them confidence to believe in themselves.

JadaKiss "We Gonna Make It"

Wondering if anyone is going to like my music and will people accept me for my take on the music or perspective and just enjoy the music without judging me .

Probably early on the sound quality, I didn't realize stems and track outs were a thing. My music production value was poor, poorly mixed and mastered or not mastered at all.

I would cut back on the murder and kill rap.
I would create slightly more guard rails cause while it's great EVERYONE can put out music the sheer flooding of music has taken away from the truly talented music makers who would be dope in any era of music.

I am a Cybersecurity Analyst now, I've worked has a Caddy, Supermarket Cashier, and Landscaper.

I played semi pro basketball so my grind in being athletically superior has fed my work ethic in music per I have 5 mixtapes on SoundCloud and 2 studio albums right now

Recently yes at times I've felt lonely but I use the time alone to focus more on the music, my craft, releasing music and marketing and building my brand.

Continuously enlightening.

Probably my father's, so I used his painting on my first studio album, "Black Jacobins"

Painting, music, and women. 😂

Nas, Common, BIG

Patience and belief in yourself.

I hear the current music on the radio or at clubs and I'm like I can make better music than that. So I make what I want to hear more of.

To make the dopest music in the world and be able to live very comfortably and happy just making music and not have to worry about finances.
