We hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask Nico Freeze anything!
Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My name is Nico Freeze, and I'm a musician and songwriter. No genre is safe, but Hip-Hop is my mainstay.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

When I made the song, I had recently just bought a rollie 🤣 I was so hyped when I bought it, so that's where the motivation for the song came from

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

I remember listening to countdowns on on WGCI in Chicago, songs that are considered throwbacks nowadays. And even sucker-free Sundays on MTV, when MTV ACTUALLY played music. You remember that?

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I remember vividly watching TI's music video "you don't know me". I don't know why, but watching that video it made me say to myself "that's what I want to do when I grow up". And I been grinding ever since.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Hip-Hop/Rap

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Well I've been writing music since I was 6, I was a die hard lyricist and still is to this day. As I got older I was able to form more intricate rhyming schemes and patterns. The game itself has evolved since then, so I had to evolve with it. Now I make more vibey music, that feel good music. I still make sure to include the bars though, so they can see the skill is so there, but not too complex where it goes over some people's heads. Make sense?

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I usually don't have a theme before I make a song, I just really go off how I'm feeling at the moment and let the music ride from there.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Honestly, it would probably be MJ. I know he isn't with us no more, but not only is he the GOAT artist, but GOAT performer. I make sure to include the entertainment aspect in my music, from the studio to the live performance. I feel like what I could have soaked up from Mike would be priceless. But if we're talking about artists today, I would say Drake. Biggest artists in the world right now, and has hits for days. The tour would be huge, and I know I would learn a lot from the experience.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

It's funny, I don't really have a favorite artist. I know it sounds crazy, but my versatility range doesn't allow me to be honed in one 1 person.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

A description of my music is basically, me as an artist... I'm like a prototype. I can record 3 different songs, and they all will sound like different artists. You would be like "Damn that's Freeze"?

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Once again, MJ. It goes without explanation. He's the GOAT, his music has transcended time, and he's the greatest performer of all time, in any genre, and in my opinion in any industry. Need I say more?

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

I love em all, but I have a song called "Run it" which isn't released yet. But the song shows my level of artistry from the intro to the verses, different flows on the hook and the verse. Melodies, everything. It's a work of art.

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Man that's tough ... I'd have to come back to you on that.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

My dream performance would be in a stadium, with the stage in the middle, fireworks going off, a lot of pops and flares. A choreographed set, with some conversation with the audience in between. A real life movie.

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

I don't ever remember where I discover a new song, but I can tell you the weirdest place I made a song. I was in my grandma's shower when I wrote "Run it". I don't know why, but I was just getting lyrics in my head like a text message from God or something. I literally hopped in to get clean, and came out with a hit. Priceless.
