AllahKing Wize is a 5% Nation of Gods and Earths representative in the world of Hip Hop. Carrying on the 5%er legacy of Popa Wu in the world of Hip Hop, AllahKing Wize come with raw reality rap.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

There are a lot of people who claim to be a part of the 5% and are not true representatives of the culture.

My background in coming from the streets and becoming a 5%er at 15 shaped and molded my identity as an artist and this song is an embodiment of that.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

I remember listening to music in my household  at 7 and 8 with my parents playing soul music, R & B, and blues. Then my older cousins put me on to Run DMC, Rakim, and the movie Krush Groove in the 80's.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

When I heard Rakim's song Check Out My Melody.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

The Boombap sound of Hip Hop.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

I've become more balanced in my approach to getting my message across without over -messaging and under-meassaging. I kick raw street shit of life and experiences growing up as a God in the 5% Nation.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

The reality of the street life. Street tales of drug selling, robberies, incarceration, knowledge of self, supreme mathematics, going through changes and evolving through trials and tribulations, 5% repping, etc.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Wu- Tang Clan, Nas,  and Westside Gunn, because that's my vibe.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

Raw, reality rap from first hand experience...lyrical content not flooded with punchlines, thoughtful lyrics of complex realities simplified, with 5%er cultural themes.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Tupac because of his passion and realness.

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?

A Prison cell, locked in the hole.

What does your dream performance look like?

Madison Square Garden packed showing live on air.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

Inspired. Powerful.

Real, Genuine, Inspirational.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

Showing the difference between the real and the fake on the level of street reality and bringing recognition and respect for those who lived it out and remained and becoming mainstream without selling out. Also making it known that it's one thing to be from the street and another to rap about it.

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

The way corporate capitalism pervert the art form and instigate black on black homicide and rap-street beefs.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?

Whatever role that they chose. Yet a leadership role of positive reinforcement of change.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?

The young

Getting locked up and facing a life sentence.
