Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

Stevie Wonder

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

I vision phases - For example, Rolling Stones plays a stadium concert with a 10-12 piece band, however in the middle of the show they move to pit in the middle of the crowd and play good old Rock' N Roll with the core band as 5 piece.

In my dream performance, we move the audiance through surprise phases musiscally and emotionally - at times we play one or two musicians sing songs with the audiance, and we move into big band setup with horns, background singers etc... a complete show, with attractive visuals that will move the crowd through stories.

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Charlie Parker - always something to learn from the Yardbird

Sonny Rollins - his music resonates with everyone

Gregory Isaacs - the “Cool Ruler”—brought romance to Reggae, pioneering the subgenre known as “lovers rock.”

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

My Love Remains True - the music was composed at a beach in Turkiye when Serdar G was very young around 15-16 years old. Once Rawle G and Peewee Dread heard the riddim, they took the original riddim and wrote lyrics and a new melodies and we turned the song into a Dred I Dread hit.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Jimi Hendrix - nothing ccompares to Jimi

We would be honored to tour with Burning Spear. We are following some of his footsteps without any major success. We believe Burning Spear's audiance will welcome Dred I Dread.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Life experiences, struggle, sharing upflifting messages to help people to go through though times.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?

In addition to the Dred I Dread crew as Peewee Dread on vocals, and Serdar G on guitars, legendary  Jamaican musicians are featured in various tracks of the EP including Dean Fraser on sax, Tony “Asher” Brissett on keybords and percussion, Errol ‘Flabba’ Holt on bass, Melbourne ‘Fire-House Crew’ Miller on drums, Kirk ‘Harmony House’ Bennett on drums, Donald ‘ Fire-House Crew’ Dennis on bass, Everton Gayle on horns and Rushawn ‘Kush’ McNuff on Nyabinghi bass drum and congas, Fiona Forrest and Geoffrey Forrest on background vocals.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Reggae, Roots Reggae

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

As we are a band each of us would have a different story. For Serdar G, he jumped on the stage when he was 15 at a large stadium concert and since this show, he knew he was going to be an artist/ musician.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

Each band member will recall a different memory. For example for Serdar G, his father used to sing and play Beatles songs to him with a guitar when he was very little. Rawle G would call out listening to nyabinghi drums in Jamiaca and Peewee Dread would call out his early church experiences in New Orleans. In reality,  the lullabies from mothers, aunts and grand mothers are the first music memories for most of us.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

We play many types of Reggae music such as Dub, Lovers Rock, Dancehall, Ska with influences from Rock, Jazz and Funk, however by heart we are an authenthic Roots Reggae Band. This song is a reflection of our unique background.

Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

Dred I Dread is a Minneapolis, MN based Reggae Band. The Band features talented musicians that come from Jamaica, New Orleans, Minnesota and Turkiye. The diverse heritage of these band members echo in the sound of Dred I Dread.
