Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

I am Marequis ShakeBack Dobson. I Love just seeing people play with words and just at awe with talented n blessed people. I have a way with words when I'm getting something off my chest or something is really dear to me and I surprised myself sometimes so I use it as a venting mechanism. A lot of people say they like my storytelling when my music. I don't even know that I'm doing that at times I'm just getting stuff off of my chest. SoI I have trouble making hype songs and turn up and bling bling and I got this and I got that. But if you want to talk about the struggle real life fighting to be whatever is keeping you down in life that's me but if it's making some b******* up my son's come out garbage when I do that so just know you're always going to get the truth 💯💯💯💯💯💯

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

This song just came from me playing bored and the beat came on and I just went with the flow but I'm a person that I love like a love songs they don't make me sad they don't put me down they make me happy so it's just easy for me to getting that mode and just talk about or rap about love.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I started rapping it probably like 19 to 20 years old. Me and my homeboy was just b*********** and made a song for these girls and they was like so impressed. And after that luckily my cousin's boyfriend took me to the studio with him all around the same time so it was like God was talking to me.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My mama is old school so

Was here old school music and of course we were going around and turn on what's in and what's going on and my generation. But we all knew the old school songs as well so all I grew up on was r&b and hip Hop.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

This is a r&b track I guess you would say. I am rapping on it but I really didn't do much thinking when it came to this song. I just like to be and went with the flow and it turned out how it turned out and I ended up liking it.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Honestly I quit recording and trying to record and wrap like 7 years ago 8 years ago. But I did I always love making music but I didn't know I could rap until I was like 22. And nobody took me serious so I decided to order my own studio equipment. I was lost at that time anyways and I was trying to find something to put my mind into it on anyways so it was perfect. I ended up selling my studio when my drug addict diction was at its highest like seven or eight years ago. I told myself that was something I would never ever do and I did it. Everybody who hurt my songs I made one mixtape and Miles City was like so into what I was doing like I don't know why the f*** I stopped it was so stupid to stop. But here I am 33 and it's a passion of mine and I'm lost again and I don't know it just feels like I'm back at home like I love making music but I've been using bandlab cuz I never really understood like mixing and mastering I honestly just memorize what he told me to do on this free program and I used it it was called cool letter pro. But I love the sound I've been getting out of bandlab so I got a mic and interface and stop recording on my phone but like 80% of my songs was made on the government phone. You be the judge

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

My music is centered around life. My life me venting me getting stuff off my chest me being creative me loving to watch something start off as nothing and you make it into something is so amazing to me to see and watching largest my work like I love just the process of watching anybody make something into something and the finished product is your vision your view your thoughts it's yours. They say I am a storyteller rapper

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

If I could go on tour with anybody it would be a little baby. He's pretty much the only person that I listen to and I just love how you put s*** together his views on stuff and I carry yourself and you can tell the man in the music is not much different from the actual man. And that's more or less how I am I feel like if you listen to my music you kid 70% understand how I am and how I care myself and what's going on in my life at that time

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

I'm a student of the game like I am fans of so many artists. Like I listen to so many different rap artists like I might listen to Hopsin one day I might listen to Eminem was my favorite rapper is a child. I like NBA youngboy I love little baby I love Fredo bang I love King Vine Lil Durk I like CMG I don't know I really study everybody right everybody I love yellow pain jelly roll quando rondo. I'm from Tennessee so you know all of the Memphis rappers you know I've been on guy all my life yo Gotti you know what I'm saying black youngster moneybagg yo grew up off Boosie Boosie was who raised us the only concert I've ever been to was Boosie's Kevin Gates all of you are artists are I don't know I love everybody f*** it.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

When I first started wrapping I was like he'll be like listening like j Cole and Eminem and The Lyricist and I just love how they can bring a song to life in Drake early on I don't know I just loved you know the old school lyricist but not too deep. Like I love delicious dick say s*** and you like how the f*** they think of that but at the same time you damn near feel like you could have said that and they just got away with making stuff come together and it's not too complicated but at the same time you like God damn it's not easy to do that so yeah like I haven't been heavy on like the Jay Z's and the Kendrick Lamar's and early j Cole when he's talking about like stories and stuff but not like the lyricism but I don't know I'm weird like that. I don't want to listen to a song and feel like I need to go do homework afterwards

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

A performance dead or alive I ain't going to lie it's probably going to shock you but lil snupe.... I really feel like that little young n***** was gone take over the game. And I feel like he was going to blossom into something and nobody seen come in but we all knew he was special but I really wish we all could have seen what he would have ended up being once he was in his prime. Like it was just a beginning for the young young n*****. So imagine him five years down the road and he done really advance on top of his guy gives you the ability. that little n**** could have been the next Drake but when I say Drake I mean found the formula to making a hit back to back to back to back to back every year where he keeps something catchy in the atmosphere where we can't not acknowledge him. I feel like he was going to be one of them rappers that had their gifts where you just know when he dropped something new you going to be singing it for a while.
