The Whispering Trees Perspective on Where Are You Now
We'd like to compare ourselves to an intricate mix of Paramore, The Killers, and Treaty Oak Revival.
We are The Whispering Trees and we make Indie Rock music with catchy melodies, ripping guitars, and drum beats you can feel in your chest. Our band consists of 2023 Mississippi Songwriter of the Year Naomi Taylor, Joey Raines, Caleb Dickerson, and Perry Hammett. Naomi is a gigging musician who teaches privately to young girls how to songwrite, play guitar and sing. Joey is a fulltime graphic designer and screenprint shop owner. Caleb is a fulltime gigging musician, and Perry is an air traffic control manager. We are busy folks that love to make music together.
This release specifically falls into an Indie-Country / Indie-Rock category. However, our full-length debut album releasing in late September 2024 consits of many different genres working together. Indie, Punk, Rock, Pop, and Country rolled into what is The Whispering Trees.
Over the Last 3 years, we have experimented with many different sounds and styles. Part of this stemming from the rotation of band members over the years - new people means new ideas and styles. Our style now has a more sophistacated way of telling a story. When we formed this band, there were heavy influences of pop and metal. After accepting and coming to terms with our roots and embracing each of our influences, we are now a mix of all of our selves and consider our style to be Indie Dream Rock that highlights different genres and styles along the way.
Our music tells a story of what we go through and the challenges we face along the way. Some themes we explore are feeling left, lost, confident, going through stages of grief, relief, shame, anxious, etc. Our first single 'Where Are You Now' touches on the feeling of reminiscence and uncertainty of going at life without some people you thought would be beside you.
We would love to go on tour with The Killers, Paramore, or Kings of Leon. All of these artists embrace indie elements and alot of our music is inspired by these three artists.
Our music is cool. No matter what kind of music you prefer, The Whispering Trees has atleast ONE song that you might resonate with. Every Song has heartfelt lyrics showcased by stunning vocals, reverberated guitars marrying overdriven guitars, attitude and youre GONNA bob your head to it.
