Cody Roberts Perspective on Cherokee Mist

My name is Cody Roberts. I am 24 years old and from Greenville South Carolina. I am a guitar player and have played for the last ten years. I'm finally starting to release music and love making music of all types.

Cherokee ancestry runs in my family and I wanted to make a piece of music to honor the Cherokee Nation.

I was very young, no taller than a nightstand. I loved making noise and developed my music taste from being surrounded by classic rock, bluegrass, nu metal, country, and gospel.

I always recorded stuff when I had the motivation but never watered that plant enough. Now I plan on doing things differently and trying to find my place in this world as a musician/artist. I've already gotten a few on Spotify and that was a big deal to me.. It's humbling and so rewarding.

David Gilmour's guitar playing from Live at Pompeii that performance was a religious experience for me the first time I ever watched it)
I would say rock, indie, blues, instrumental, world, native rock (let's make it a thing!)

I've played bluegrass, punk rock, classic rock, and now I'm even starting to enjoy country and getting back to my roots. I soak in everything I hear like a sponge and I'm always hungry for more. I've taken a little bit of every man and woman who has ever inspired me and try to shape it into my own sound. I love music of all kinds and don't think I could stay hooked on one genre.

Different.. give it a chance. You may find something you like!
I've got some chill stuff and I've got material that can get dark/heavier. I love a good sad song but I do love banging some power chords with a fuzz pedal.
