Velo Perspective on I Wish

I go by Velo & I'm an upcoming artist from Hartford, CT.

My background plays into this song because im just speaking on situations I really experience growing up. Went from sharing clothes with my brothers thugging it out & now I'm in a position where me nor my brothers would ever have to go throught that ever. Overall this song is about how losses turn into wins.

An early memory I got of listening to music or just overall making music for the first time all I can remember is me & my brother kells recording in his backyard off of my dads work laptop & we aint know what we was doing. Recording on Audacity just creating flows.

Going back to my brother Kells. He had a older brother who he use to always speak about how he rapped and how dope he was with his punch lines. So me & Kells would sit in his room all days watching URL rap battles just learning which is crazy to think about how long ago that was.

The genre of this song would fall in HipHop/Rap or Melodic Rap as some people say.

My sound & style evolved in the last 3 years by a lot. I feel like I finally found my sound & the lane I want to go into the industry with. Before I was more focused on being a engineer more and managing other artist but now I'm finally taking being an Artist a lot more serious. Now I got over 100+ songs ready for release and every song has its own feel and message behind it so now I'm just more then ready to take it to another level.

This is hard to pick but my favorite song I've ever made has to be a track called "Chasin My Dreams" Which is dropping this June 2024. This song represent where im from and the flow go crazy.

My dream performance would be me on stage not rapping while the crowd sings all my lyrics word for word whle im just embancing that moment. I dream about it almost everynight so I feel it happening soon.

The main reasong that's driving me to make music is the people around me daily. Family & friends that constantly tell me I got what it takes to make it. This has been a dream pf mine forever since the age of 12 whether being an artist or working in the music industry in general.

A memorable response I've had with my music, shout out my brother "BLANCO" another artist out of Orlando FL he called me one day telling me they had Afro B coming to his dads boxing gym which is where we record majority of are music at BLANCO had played one of our singles "C.M.O.P" and he was rocking with us showing lots of support so that was a surreal moment for the both of us.

Most embarrassing moment I had was probably the day I went to perform in Boston & I ain't going to lie I was smacked & forgot my lyrics off the jump but shoutout "G Money" the guy that use to give me shows he made the DJ run it back and I got to redo it and it was a movie after that.

Besides being an Artist, I've been pursuing being a Engineer/Studio Owner for the last 12 years still till this day but now I'm putting being an artist before anything.

I lesson I've learned with being an Artist is that this music industry is a cold world. People can seem real genuine but that wont be the case 99% of the time.
