Song reviewed by:
We are excited to share Jack & Giovanna's new track "Chameleon Heart"! Our goal at SongBlog is to highlight outstanding new music and give you a peek at the artist’s world behind the music. In this blog we get a chance to sit down with Jack & Giovanna to learn all about the inspiration, concepts, and creative energy that it took to create and produce "Chameleon Heart". We hope you enjoy and please feel free to ask Jack & Giovanna anything!
Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

We are Jack, from Scotland, and Giovanna, from Italy.

We create music about the joys and struggles of being human.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

Very sad :D We are half-joking!

We haven't specifically set out to fit within a certain genre, but we do find that a lot of our music would fall into the melancholy category. Partly that's because a lot of the topics we address are around life challenges but also partly because there is a great comfort to be found in hearing something that you can relate to while going through stuff.

Some people say listening to sad songs is not the most healthy thing but we'd strongly disagree on that. Sometimes only a bit of melancholia will help to process something or to feel less alone or to move on from a bad mood/situation.

But we promise not all our songs are sad! We have a lot of fun stuff planned in our release schedule also. To answer your original question, we'd say our music is accessible and easy to relate to.

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Hmmm, hopefully our music would be regarded as...

Authentic.
Relevant.
Thoughtful.

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

There isn't really any grand master-plan. We enjoy making music purely for the creative process and if other people can enjoy what we create, that's a huge bonus.

Success is a very difficult thing to measure. Even what we define it as right now will be liable to change over time. At this stage of our journey, we are just so grateful to be heard at all. We think we have something to say via our music but of course it's an extremely competitive landscape. It'd be lovely if our work connected with some people and they joined us for the ride as we grow and develop as artists.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Even just based on the tracks we have already released, we cover infidelity, resilience, heartbreak, friendship, rejection, nostalgia, self-harm, mental health issues, and temptation. So it's a pretty broad topic list already!

We will be exploring even more ground in our planned releases.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

The aim is to actually say something. Music has many roles in people's lives and doesn't always have to contain a message. But we try to highlight the human condition, whether that's examining feelings or observations of society.

When we think of the music that has been important to us over the years, much of it has been as a result of relating to the subjects. Our primary goal is to sing about things that people can identify with. This can range from heartbreak and mental health difficulties to climate anxieties and social media norms.

What has been your scariest experience while pursuing music?
Answer:

We're actually both quite introverted by nature and not exactly social media gurus!

So I'd say the promotion side of things is our biggest challenge at this stage.
