Siah Perspective on Let It Flow
It's vague but I want to inspire idealistic change for my generation through the art of music! People need a leader and I'm not saying I'm that leader but I'd hate to sit around and not use my gifts to encourage people to see the best in themselves and each other. This world is full of chaos and the best way to calm things down is through self-compassion and love for others. I learned that music is what teaches and influences the culture so I'll use music as one of my avenues.
Growing up I felt like an outcast. I wasn't the most popular, I didn't love sports, and I cried: a lot. Lol But I found my peace in music, especially in big crowds. So this song represents me speaking life into my situation while I'm in a crowd that doesn't notice me. As a Black man in society, I was taught that vulnerability was something weak but I found it as a strength. To acknowledge my pain was to be human but letting it flow is what inspired my growth as a man.
Great question! I remember asking my parents if they put music on for me and they said they would play "Clair de Lune" for me as a newborn baby and I would end up smiling in my sleep.
