SYVELLE Perspective on YAMS

Some of my earliest memories of truly enjoying the music I was hearing is all thanks to my great late father. The versatility to go from D-12 "Just Like You" & Cam'ron "Killa Cam" to Blink 182 "What's My Age Again?" & Red Hot Chili Peppers "Dani California" openeed my soundscape to the maximum capacity. With this as my origin, isn't any wonder why I push my own artistic borders and venture through a surplus of genres!

Don Toliver is the first artist that comes to mind. Through my appreciation for Travis Scott, I discovered him & instantly clicked. His sonic capabilities give me much to study, and the aestethic he brings through smoked-out RnB vibes is something I resonate with - HEAVY!

Living in the crux of the drill scene (no disrespect to the 'raq), I have seen the earliest waves from the Bam Bino era, to Sheff G, Shawny Binladen, and even the late legend Pop Smoke. Hailing from the same NYC streets as these guys was as close to the fire one can get (pun intended). As the sounds morphed & blossomed, sub-genres of drill began to emerge & I especially took a liking to sample drill. As an old soul, as my mom would say, hearing the reinvention of classics I hold to a high regard gave me an intense enthusiam. Eventually, I began experimenting & have reached a point where I can self-produce my very own with the release of "YAMS"!

The NY-based rapper, born Syvelle Madison Jr., became interested in music and rapping as a hobby in his early teens. He got more serious about the possibility of a career in hip-hop around 2018, when he was left Colgate University after one year. Before long, SYVELLE was in the studio hopping on an array of genres - even coming to produce some of his own records. Though rugged at first, his self-taught background would develop into modeling, event curation, and more!

"From Ice Spice to Cash Cobain, a new generation is tapping into drill's inescapable rhythm to make some of the most fun and downright seductive music out there"
Even Rolling Stone is catching wind of the new & immersive sound wave emitting from the concrete jungle of NYC. "Sexy drill" is flipping well-known songs into churning drill rhythms & SYVELLE's melodic crooning is the perfect puzzle piece!
