Capital Ferg Perspective on Mixed Up

While most of my songs lately have been more self-empowering, I still feel conflicted given my personal situation at the moment. I still feel a lot internal confusion about everything and I was definitely feeling that when I wrote this song. It's still got a positive spin on it for sure, but I wanted to highlight that feelings are not linear and someone may still feel confused or 'mixed up' even during a period that's got a lot of personal growth and new adventures (for me music). 

I ended up categorizing this as 'pop' because I don't feel it neatly fits into any one genre, much like the rest of my catalogue. But this one especially had more elements of pop with the more laid-back beat, sung / slightly rapped verses, and the chorus. But, I still threw a more traditional rap in the bridge. I guess it's a blend, hence why I just called it pop.
