Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My name is Keiida and I'm an independent Music Producer. I mainly focus on pop/rock music, but I dabble into the growing industry of electronic music.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

My background in singing bleeds into my passion for music. I also have had experiences with loss, heartbreak and sudden life changes which I try to mix into my music.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

I was always a musician. I always loved music and its ear-tickling potential. My earliest memory of music would be singing Norwegian children's songs with the piano when I was around five or six (even though I was a terrible pianist and vocalist at the time).

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I decided to become an artist after my first performance. The adrenaline and passion I felt on that little stage gave me motivation to keep true.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

I have always struggled to specify a genre for my release. I would probably categorize it as a ballad of some kind. It is sort of contemporary. 

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

My sound has evolved a lot the last years, going from an 8-bit sort of video game instrumental vibe, to a more modern style of pop music. I always love piano and strings too.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I mainly explore the topic of heartbreak and loss of hope and motivation. I also dabble into the meaning of forming great and long lasting relationships with people.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

If I could tour with an artist, it would probably be Geddy Lee, Roger Waters or Lewis Capaldi. I believe in passion for music, and I believe Geddy and Roger have such a passion for the craft, and also they are legendary bass players and vocalists. I would go with Lewis, cause we have similarities that could go well together.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Experimental, gutsy and heartbreaking. Weird fusion, but amazing sound.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

Vocal, heartbreaking and harmonic.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

The OG "Queen" with Freddie Mercury as the vocalist. I would give anything for that experience.

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

My favorite song that I made is Around The Corner, as it captures a very sensitive and crucial part of my life.

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Queen, Pink Floyd and Toby Fox.

I choose these artists as I love rock, psychadelic rock and Undertale/Deltarune.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

My dream performance is on a massive crowded outdoor arena when the sun is down and it's dark, with a Grad Piano on stage, and just me performing.

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

My dream artist to collaborate with would be Ed Sheeran. Love his music, it is very calming.

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

The strangest place I have discovered a song is in my sleep as my friend put it on and I dreamt about it when we were younger and had sleepovers.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

I want people to feel related too and hopeful about the future when listening to my songs. I hope they can be therapeutic and I try to introduce heartbreak and hope in my music.

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Heartwarming, harmonic and kind would be words I want fans to use to describe me.

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

I like sharing music directly to people to see their reactio.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

I practice a lot. It is usually me with a piano just singing loudly and passionately. I also play around in DAWs like Ableton and ProTools to learn new features.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

People like the vocals in my mixes specifically my harmonies and lyrical content.

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

I believe you have succeeded as an artist if you spread a good message that a lot of people can better themselves from. It's not about how many people listen to your song, it's about how many people relate to tour song and can use it as a tool for growth or reflection.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I plan to bring more of a vocal focus, as nowadays it seems to be fading away, and becoming more about beats and lyrical crap. Not to say I'm any better, but I am trying to be.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

I think artists are very important and it is an important profession as everyone listens to music, and music wouldn't be a thing if no one made it. Music is important to almost everyone. And so artists are important too, I believe.

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

Everybody Hurts by R.E.M is a song that represents growth and success within yourself I believe.

What has been your scariest experience while pursuing music?
Answer:

My scariest experience was being on The Voice Norway 2021 as it challenged me a lot to break free and show myself.

What has been your most embarassing moment while pursuing music?
Answer:

My most embarrassing moment while playing music was when I voice cracked in my puberty times on stage.

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

I would change the music industry by putting more passion into it. I feel like a lot of things are happening to make money and a lot of mass produces junk is getting popular because of it.

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

I have worked in a warehouse for an electronics store in Norway called Power Tiller. I have also delivered the paper and worked in kindergarten.

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?
Answer:

My other passions such as gaming and sports have influenced my music in a big way, as it introduces hard work. Gaming has introduced game music to my taste.

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

Being an artist has made me lonely. It made me move away from my family to start my career. You counteract it by socializing with other musicians and collaborating.

How would you define having an artistic outlook on life?
Answer:

I think if you see potential of art in anything and want to make something out of it, you have an artistic outlook on life.

What is your favorite work of art?
Answer:

Bohemian Rhapsody. My favorite song ever. It has all you ever want, and it gives you a high.

Which mediums of art do you most identify with?
Answer:

I identify most with music and games, because they have a story.

Name three artists you’d like to be compared to.
Answer:

Lewis Capaldi, Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake are three artists I would like to be compared to.

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Don't give up. A career as an artist doesn't come easily, it's a steep hill, and to have success you have to be willinf to risk and sacrifice A LOT.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

Passion drives me forward in music production as it is a flame no one can choke.

What is your overarching goal as an artist?
Answer:

Becoming well known in a genre is a goal that I hope will lead me to touring and connecting to my fans.
