Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

My song Whoa Ft Samantha J best represents success to me. We worked so hard on it, it was a collaborative effort and we executed the song and the video flawlessly. It was promoted well and reached a global audience. Wyclef reposted it, Missy Elliott liked it and it was the springboard for a lot of other great songs.

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Cool, honest, compelling

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Bob Marley, Michael Jackson & Biggie. These three artists cover a lot of bases, spiritually, sonically and lyrically. I grew up on their music and my life would not be the same without them.

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

I lost a wife because I was a musician. She wanted me to quit doing music. I had experienced some success making music and was not trying to quit for her. It just let me know she wasn't really down for the cause and she was not the one for me. We separated and I went on reach even higher heights with my musicianship so I'm confident I made the right decision. In hindsight, we were both young and had different goals in life. I made some great songs as a result of our divorce, so something good came out of it.

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?
Answer:

I belive that "once an athlete, always an athlete" Having played competitive sports for the majority of my life, (basketball and football) my music is informed by that lifestyle. I'm always looking for the competitive edge, my lingo reflects that of a baller and I infuse the names of some of my sports heroes into my songs (Jordan, Iverson, Kobe, Randy Moss, Muhammad Ali)

Answer:

How would you define having an artistic outlook on life?
Answer:

Having an artistic look on life is being the eternal optimistic. We strive for perfection knowing it will probably never be achieved. We hope for a better tomorrow and want to make the world a better place than how we found it.

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

I would eliminate greed and make it about true self-expression.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

The artist is here to express themselves, illiciting some sort of response, whether it be positive or negative. An artists job is to show the world from their perspective and make people feel something. Artists should be held in the highest of regard because they are the ones who have the courage enough to be vulnerable.
