Tasty Treat Perspective on Romeo Slide

Romeo slide is a reflection of me on two fronts. Fans of my music have come to know Tasty as an artist with a provocative imagination and fiery sex drive. Sprinkled with illicit imagery, the song is meant to capsulate our most erotic fantasies.
the second front speaks to my background as film maker. The hook of the song mentions "Tropic Thunder", one of Treats favorite comedies and the booty sweat mention itself refers to a clip in the film of the character "alpa chino" performing his own song, "booty sweat".

I'm Tasty Treat from Detroit Michigan. Born to be a writer, I attended film school at Columbia Chicago and graduated with a bachelors in film/video. My concentration at school was focused on screenwriting and producing and for the better part of my 20s, I wrote and produced short film. However, Rap music has been my first genre since middle school and I was raised on the greats like Biggie, 2pac, Snoop, Dre, and DMX. Even as a kid I performed talent shows of different rap songs and my transition from film to music has really made sense for me because it allows me to do the same kind of storytelling in a faster/shorter form.

Going to FYE in the mall in early high school and hearing DMX second Album. It was so R rated and intense. I remember looking around the store, kinda frightened but also kinda dog-ish, ready to bite.

During Covid. The movie industry shut down for social distancing and so did the restaurants I worked in as a day job. Stuck in the house, j started making jingles for a podcast my cousin and I were doing.

Gangster rap. dark/moody, intense, provocative, sexy vibes

I'm constantly evolving and I tell people the reason I chose Tasty Treat as a stage name is tied to the idea that my music is multi genre/multi flavored tracks. Some of it is sweet and funny. Some of it is aggressive and intense. Some are more thoughtful. Some are meant to be turnt. It's all about what the beats speak to me when I hear them.

Dating, hustling, failures, triumphs, maturity, broken systems, inspiration, sex, drugs, & partying.

Babyface Ray. He the waviest in Detroit and one of the best writers going in modern day rap. Love his authenticity

I don't have a favorite artist but I reccomend a lot of artists who rap with wit and humor. Lil Wayne built a career on metaphors and that sort of imagination for describing something is something I want to integrate in my music.

It's a mix of flavors. You'll probably love some of it and hate other tracks. Making music across spectrum like I do, it will never be "all for anyone". I just hope to make some stories like authors do. You don't have to read all my books. Just pick a favorite and I appreciate anyone that takes the time to explore it.

2pac. He was the rawest rapper ever and was gone way too soon.
