Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

Growing up in the electrifying city of Mumbai, where music is in the very air you breathe, it's no surprise I found myself drawn to the world of music production. Since October 8th, 2003, this city has been my muse, and under the stage name S3VIL, I've been pouring my heart into crafting music that captures its energy. The local music scene has embraced me in a way I never imagined, and my latest project is something truly special – I can't wait to share it with the world!

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I was listening to HardwellOnAir, and a random melody started developing in my head. I recorded this in my phone by humming it and later completed the track in FL Studio. This has been my practice to write all of the songs.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

Martin Garrix's "Animals" was everywhere when I was 14 or 15. It seemed like every speaker in town was blasting it! That song got me hooked on Garrix's music, and I spent hours on YouTube watching his live sets. The energy of the crowd, all moving to his music, was insane. It totally lit a fire in me – I imagined myself up there on stage, controlling that energy with my own music. That's the moment I knew I wanted to make music myself.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

Witnessing the explosion of Martin Garrix's music around my hometown, especially "Animals" being on repeat everywhere, was a turning point. I devoured his music on YouTube, completely captivated by the electrifying energy of his live sets. Seeing those massive crowds moving in sync to his music was incredible. It sparked a fire within me – I envisioned myself on that stage, wielding the power of music to move the masses. That's the exact moment the dream of creating my own music took root.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

This track is a big room track, precisely the break of the song is old school inspired by those huge saw synths you hear at festivals.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Let's be real, my early attempts at EDM were rough – tracks that wouldn't even make it onto a party mix. But hey, that's how you learn, right? Those experiments were all about finding my own voice in music. By constantly creating and tinkering, I discovered new ways to express myself through sound. It wasn't just about the music itself – my technical skills skyrocketed. My mixes went from muddy messes to clean, expansive soundscapes. It was a total game-changer!

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

Martin Garrix is a huge inspiration, for sure. But lately, I've been getting fired up by KSHMR's unique blend of Indian influences into EDM. It's opened up a whole new world of possibilities! Honestly, my head is brimming with ideas – who knows what genre I'll tackle next? That's the beauty of it – the music keeps evolving, and I'm along for the ride

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

When it comes to live shows, Martin Garrix and Hardwell are at the top of my list. Their tours are legendary – pure, unadulterated energy that gets the whole crowd moving. It's electric!

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

You know what? I gotta throw "Fire" by Ytram and Elderbrook into the mix for ultimate inspiration. That track is an all-timer for me too! There's something about the way it builds and explodes that just gets me going.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

My ultimate dream? Headlining a stage at a monster festival like Ultra Music Festival or Tomorrowland. Imagine a scene like this: a sea of 10,000 people, all moving in unison to the music I created. That kind of energy exchange, that connection – that's what I strive for. To be the one controlling the crowd with my music, not the other way around. Now that would be an incredible experience!

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

When it comes to idols, there's no one else for me but Martin Garrix. Sharing the stage with him would be an absolute dream come true. Imagine collaborating, feeding off each other's energy, and creating something epic together. That would be a memory etched in stone!

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

You hit the nail on the head there. While overnight success stories do happen, they're the exception, not the rule. In the music world (and really, anywhere!), true mastery takes time and dedication. For me, it's about constantly honing my craft, pushing my boundaries, and learning from every project. The countless hours in the studio, all those not-so-great early tracks – they were all stepping stones that led me to where I am today. And let me tell you, the journey itself is half the fun! The constant growth, the a-ha moments, the feeling of accomplishment as your skills develop – that's what keeps me going. Sure, sharing the stage with Martin Garrix would be incredible, but the road to get there is gonna be epic in itself.

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

You're preaching the gospel of true musical success. In a world saturated with music, it's not about fleeting fame or topping charts. It's about creating something that resonates with people, a song that becomes a soundtrack to their lives.

Think about it – there are billions of songs out there, but only a select few become ingrained in our memories. Those are the ones that evoke emotions, tell a story, or capture a specific moment in time. Those are the songs people connect with on a deeper level, the ones they add to their playlists, sing along to in the car, or use to express themselves.

That's the kind of impact I want to have. To create music that becomes a part of someone's story, a song they carry with them. That, for me, is the ultimate measure of success. Sure, awards and recognition are great, but there's nothing quite like knowing your music has touched someone's life.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

The Indian music scene is exploding, and artists like Nucleya and Ritviz are leading the charge with their unique blends. That's what excites me the most – the endless possibilities for exploration! I don't want to be confined to one genre. My vision is to create a distinct world of sound, a fusion of styles that reflects my own heritage.

Big room and bass house are definitely in my wheelhouse, but I see myself incorporating the magic of Indian classical instruments as well. Imagine the energy of a massive bass drop punctuated by the soaring melody of a sitar! That kind of innovative fusion is what I'm striving for. It's about pushing boundaries, creating something fresh and exciting that resonates with a global audience. Stay tuned, because the musical world of S3VIL is just getting started!

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

Marin Garrix: Animals and Hardwell: Spaceman and Titanium by David Guetta

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

Music is my ultimate escape, my personal portal to another world. It's where I recharge, where creativity flows freely, and where worries fade. But that's not all that fuels the fire. The dream of one day hearing my music erupt across the main stage at Tomorrowland – that's pure, unadulterated passion. It's the ultimate vision that keeps me pushing forward, track after track. Some might call it an escape, but for me, it's a journey – a journey of creation, fueled by passion and the pursuit of a dream so big it lights up the night sky.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

In society, artists—including me, though in a somewhat different way—have a variety of roles. Here are a few significant ways that artists contribute:

Creating Culture and Identity: Artists remark on societal issues, cultural standards, and everything in between, reflecting the period they live in. Their work has the power to provoke debate, alter viewpoints, and even motivate social change.

Emotional Expression and Connection: Art is a potent medium for expressing feelings, both universal and personal. Through art, we can feel happiness, sadness, rage, and everything in between, which strengthens our feeling of interconnectedness and humanity.

conserving History and Memory: Through their creations, artists serve as documentarians, conserving cultural history and seizing fleeting moments in time.
