Punky Bluester Perspective on Blues Bruise

PBvsMC or "Punky Bluester vs the Magnificent Creature" was originally just 'magnificent creature.' and that was inspired by a true-life moment that i experienced. there was a woman i was seeing and even though she was really mad at me at the time, in sort of a kiss-off type of way she said to me 'you are a magnificent creature." it was a really heavy moment and it stuck with me. so the title became Magnificent Creature. but as i started to conceptualize cover artwork i didnt like the direction it was going and i thought it was more interesting to make it PUnky VS... insinuating a conflict, but really the internal conflict i think we all experience at some point in our lives. some of us through our entire lives. but here's a fun fact: the next record will have. a much shorter title, simply because i have gottn sick and tired of typing out "Punky Bluester vs the Magnificent Creature" over & over again. hence the 'PBvsMC'. the working title on the next record currently is 'US Male". but we'll see....
every song i record is like my child. Heavy Blues required the most work and went through the most iterations. but i think Down Tonight maybe had the most guitar overdubs. i just love the process of creating in the studio... listening to what i did at home and then coming back to the studio to continue working. for that reason i cant really say a favorite...this is the best version of my music i have put out, yet i feel. but the new songs are even better than these, work has already begun on the follow up record....so keep your eye on us!

we play traditional Blues with influence from Punk, Metal & Grunge.

Primus... that's our crowd.

existentialism. things i observe in my daily life. heartbtreak, loneliness, altered mind states. hope and anguish.

3 years is how long this band has been a thing. i play at a higher skill level than i ever have. writing songs all the time. almost daily. it will be easier to answer this one in 3 more years.

As a group we try to focus on blues and punk rock influences. but this song is very psychedellic, grungy and dissonant. i think it could be appreciated by anyone with a twisted or dark sense of humor, or anyone with a kinky fetish.

it sort of happened by default. i have always been a performer, and actor. and when i fell in love with the guitar, it really stuck. there's not much else i'm really interested in.

I'm Matthew Kemp, aka "Fearless" of the American rock band Punky Bluester. i write the songs and play guitar and bass on the record, and on this track i even sing the lead vocal/
