Who are you and what do you do?

Answer:

JR is a solo artist from Arizona writing and recording original rock anthems influenced by the classic rock era primarily from the 60's through the 90's. JRtheBand (one word) is his studio project where he plays all the instruments (except drums) and sings. Fans of JR's music say it sounds familiar, yet new. JR has accumulated millions of streams, tens of thousands of follwers on socials, thousands of monthly listeners on Spotify, and 1,400 subscribers on YouTube.

How does your background play into this song?

Answer:

Homelessness has become such an epidemic in America. How can you not walk by the downtrodden and wonder, what slight change in life's circumstance, what slight deviation from your life path, what could cause the tables to be turned and it's you begging for money because you've lost all hope? It's heartbreaking that only the strongest minds can thrive and the rest barely survive.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?

Answer:

In the womb, jk. But pretty shortly after being spit out into this world :)
