Kalab King Perspective on Don't Have To Go

I'm a truly independent artist. I've produced all my own work and even make my own beats.

Well this one in particular is basically a love letter to my flame.

Riding in the back seat of my moms car while she had her radio on full blast. She was constantly playing a mix of rock n roll and rap music.

Well, one day I went in my moms cd case looking for something to listen to. My mother was a big fan of rap and she had a massive cd collection of different artist. I went through her case until I found a mixed cd. I ran inside and put it in my portable cd player, cause I wasn't suppose to be listening to explicit rap then and I didn't want anyone to hear. The cd was filled with some of the best artists, DMX, Biggie Smalls, Tupac. I think that was the first time I listened to Hailmary. But it was actually Tupac's song Thug Mansion that made me want to be an artist. I listened to that song. And it was wild because obviously me and Pac have had vastly different lives.. But there were a couple lines in that song in particular that made me feel like maybe I wasn't alone in the world. Maybe there was someone who might understand what I was going through. It was that feeling that made me want to be an artist because I wanted to be able to do the same kind of thing for someone else so that maybe they won't have to feel alone in the world.
