Answer:

My name Is Nishwakie. I was born and raised from an Island called Saint Lucia and I currently make music in the San Fernando Valley, California

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I grew up around alot of musicians and people in entertaiment. I used to attend alot of music shows as a kid. With the disparity of music I am exposed to back home and diversity of music in US I believe I tend to pull form both when creating music.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

We had Nanny/babysitter growing up an my earliest memories would be her folding her clothes/doing chores while listening to the radio and it was always a speciific reggae station. I feel like I creatively pull from space to this day.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

When I was about 15. For me music became freedom. Thats when I realized I had to pursue it.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

I'd say it forms under the hip/rmb gene. For me it's a bit of a mix with reggae to because the lyrics to the hook was inspired by the hook on "96 degrees in the shade"

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

My sound has really diversified over the past few years. I do love bouncing through different genres and innovating my sound. I try to bring something new in every new song I put out.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I have explored a very calming reassuring, energy for most of my songs I think it's always good to have that safe space now I'm more exploring a more austentatious approoach a bit more intimate and close, I would say.
