Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

CRONICK is an MC/Rapper sent to earth to uncover truth and help others see their potential as human beings.
The intention behind the music created is to combine the experience of being human in a time where change is getting faster and faster, and more imminent. Now more than ever, authentic art and talent needs to be showcased to the world and not buried by the commercial music that has ran rampant for years. The world is changing, people are changing, music is changing, and CRONICK is just another creative apart of the process of the worlds awakening to our true nature.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

From the time I was 2-3 years old, I was already immersed into a wide selection of music. Ranging from hip-hip, rnb, rock, soul, jazz, etc.

my passion for music since hasn't changed, only evolved into a more curated selection of what I choose to put into my consciousness.
I consider myself a student of rap/HipHop specifically, as I spent over 20 years learning about it and listening to it.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

Throughout my life, I would find myself writing my own verses to instrumentals that I enjoyed. From the time I was in middle school to now writing rap verses has always been away for me to convey my thoughts in a creative way that can captivate like minded people.
I struggled a lot with self-doubt and not understanding why I had these ambitions and desires to do this because of the way that the industry portrays rappers in the world today.

i've always had a more spiritual outlook on life that continuously got stronger through the years. My experiences with psychedelics, society, friends and family, And the Obstacles I had to overcome are the things that inspired me to fully become the artist that I knew I was. For a very long time I let others dictate the direction of my life because I wasn't sure about what I should be doing so I took other peoples advice because I thought that's what was right, not knowing that every single time I try to do what people said I should, I would end up disappointed somehow or something happens or it just ultimately doesn't feel aligned with what I'm supposed to be doing as a human being on this planet . And I know a lot of other people feel that way, so just keep your head up don't let doubts stop you from doing what you Innately know is the right thing for you to do.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

The songs I create ultimately display a theme of self discovery, self actualization, psychedelic experience, thought provoking ideas, of someone searching for the truth within themselves to better the world as a whole.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

The music I create is heavily influenced by early 90s and mid 90s hip-hop. What I admire about that era in time is that it seems like they valued knowledge and wisdom, and being able to express that in a creative way that gets peoples heads bopping.
I think somewhere along the lines, hip-hop and rap has lost that touch and now it's just a race to get to the money as quick as possible. I feel like it used to be a lot more selfless and now it's a lot more selfish In terms of why rappers are doing it, and their intentions behind the music they create.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

Like they aren't alone in this crazy world of confusion, not knowing what direction we're all headed. I think there is hope for a positive future, but it takes people to realize and actualize that we have the power to make that change and that's what has to happen first.

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

To me, my definition of success as an artist Is by how many lives you can change with the art that you create. Money has never been a focus, but I am aware that it Translates to the energy flow of life.
I feel like if you're An artist that reaches millions of people with what you create, and you're helping change peoples lives for the better, that's success.
You are outpouring your experience and your energy, manifesting a creation into the world that can help transform somebody else's reality, that's powerful. Fulfilling your purpose for why you're here is what I deem to be successful.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

The artist role and responsibility is to tap into the unconscious world that we all exist in and are part of and pull creative ideas out into the physical world. I personally believe that certain people have specific abilities, And as an artist, it's our job to figure out what those abilities are and how we can use them to create something for people to enjoy.

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?
Answer:

My passion for learning new things, skateboarding, and talking to people makes the process of creating music a lot more enjoyable. It all translates, my experiences with psychedelics, hanging out with like-minded people and friends, and being out in the streets skateboarding my entire life has helped a lot with how I've developed my sound.

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

There are a lot of things I feel like I would want to change in the music industry if I was in the position to do so, but that's a very complicated thing and it can get very deep. If anything, I would want to stay away from the music industry as far as what's mainstream and commercial just because that's not what I'm aiming for and I feel like that would take away from what I'm actually trying to do with my music.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I think a lot of people sleep on the original rap and hip-hop that made It what it is today.
It wasn't always about money, cars, jewelry, having more than the next person and bragging about it and thinking that you're in a better position Because of your materialistic possessions.
I feel like I can be a game changer  as far as bringing to the table what people are hungry for in today's world.

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Never let anyone tell you what you should do with your mind and what you create.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

The state the world is in, the music industry, the exploitation of artists for profit, my driving force is that I know I can make real changes that can benefit the right people.
