Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My name is Nisa Tasnim
I'm a dedicated creative to my craft, making music! Most of my songs were written during emotional points in my life and based on real experiences. Enjoy soulful, R&B/hip-hop, and alternative sound! More music to stay tuned.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I'm from Southeast Texas, right outside of Houston. Music has always been a part of my life. My upbringing started in the country and expanded from there. I've been classically trained vocally by opera singers in Germany. I continue my training every day to excel in my art.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My earliest memories of music are listening to artists such as Macy Gray, Diana Ross, and the Supremes. Their voices in the way that they delivered the music still speak to me to this day.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I've been an artist since I was a young girl. I was always doing talent shows and competitions in my community as an expression of myself and to showcase my music.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Step is a journey of self-discovery. The genre is R&B and hip-hop.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Over the past three years, I have grown in control and range. Being from Southeast Texas, I have that southern twang; however, not all of my music showcases that. My voice is also raspy, and I feel that my music has moved in a move to control that rasp and country accent. My upcoming songs will showcase my grit but also the softer side of my voice.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

I would love to go on tour with Sza, Kehlani, Jhené Aiko, and Summer Walker.
