Kbreaz1 Perspective on Funkin' 'Till The Mornin'

I love making music and being creative. I think the platforms and technology now exist for creatives to publish their expressions with high level of quality and get them out to their listeners and followers.

I have found that the more music your produce, the less practing you do. Unless you are playing alot of live gigs, very little time is spent in actually improving your craft.

Earth, Wind and Fire. Whitney Houston. The Hawkins Family

My favorite song that I have made is probably one called "Jammin' At The Blue." It certainly was the most challenging to play, but it was also a bear to mix and get to the final product. I am probably the most proud of what I was able to produce with that song.

I would have loved to see Whitney Houston peform in her prime.

Each of my songs are based on their own unique groove, which is then enhanced by layered arrangements that produce a lush sound canvas.

All the elements of the song; arrangement, production, sound design, lyrics and melodies come together perfectly to make an emotional connection with the listener.

Unfortunately, most of my music idols have passed away. However, I would love to grace the stage with say Earth, Wind & Fire, or Alicia Keys. Their music embodies all of the elements I embrace with production and composition. To do so would be a dream come true.

I love to create sound canvases for each of my songs. Each sound canvas is designed to play to a particular emotion, vibe or situation. I love intricate arrangements. I love complete songs, and not just melodies plopped on top of beats.

I don't think my style has changed over the past three years. As I have progressed as an engineer and producer, I believe my sound has gotten better to point that I am more confident with making more frequent releases and trusting my judgement

Funkin' 'Till The Mornin' is true to its title. It is a funk-inspired dance song that brings together a lot of the creative elements that fueled funk songs of the 70's.

Initially I was on a mission to become a music teacher. Actually, my undergratuate degree is in music education. Something happened along the way. The local schools started divesting in music programs and removing related curriculums altogether. It was at the point that I decided to focus more on performing, composing and producing.

My mother was a huge fan of music. Her favorites were Arthur Prysock, Lou Rawls, Mary Wells, and anything by Dionne Warwick

Having grown up in the 70's at the height of the jazz fusion, funk and soul era, I was heavily influenced by the likes of James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, Parlaiment/Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins and those guys.

My name is Kevin Breazeale (aka Kbreaz1). I'm a musician, composer, producer, and independent artist from Philadelphia, Pa.
