Do you have a distinct way of making music, how do you work?
Answer:

My way of making music has always been about the flow. When it comes to how the song begins and end it's important for every aspect of sound to flow. I love to keep the listeners glued and making certain pieces stand out.

Walk us through your music creation process, specifically for this song.
Answer:

When creating No Temptation, at the time I was back talking to a past fling. And we had such an connection that he wanted to make the next move sexually. Which brought about this song..of course my producer 'King Chai' had the perfect beat for this mood. The writing process sometimes is unique for me, because a lot of the time I'm at work. So I was literally on shift jotting down lyrics. I stuck with the original melody, but eventually added my own fill to it. I did the song in completely in one take, and laid the harmonies and ad libs after. What's funny is I record myself, so this entire song was recorded at home in my closet. Usually that's the quietest place for me.

Do you prefer working alone or collaborating with others? How does this influence your sound?
Answer:

Well that all depends, 1 if I'm out in a public studio session and two if my session is open. A lot of the time I tend to be at home when I recorded, so I'm usually by myself. But there's been many public sessions I've either attend or allowed other to attend mine. In those moments I feel like collectively we challenge each to bring the best out of ourselves. Someone of my greatest ideas have come in those moments. I always said two heads are better then one.

Do you have any particular methods that help you flush out your creativity while making music?
Answer:

Not necessarily, being a Christian artist my main approach is to first hear from God and what is best to speak on. After prayer and writing I'm ready to create. Allowing myself to flow in the music. Easy going you know..

Which aspect of the writing, production and release process do you enjoy the most?
Answer:

The production and the marketing. Both places I feel the most creative. A lot of the time being my own engineer allows me to concentrate on the perfections without bothering someone to fix minor details. So I enjoy having the creative portion in my hands. The marking portion is again another way to be creative and target your skills as an entrepreneur. Getting the responses to know what works and what doesn't, allows you to make better music and business choices all together. So if this song isn't liked once I market the release I know I need to try again musically. If the marketing strategy was received well the music is too.

How many beats do you produce per month?
Answer:

Well recently I've just started back in the production side of music. So I would say roughly maybe 3 a month.

Which production tools were the most helpful while producing this track?
Answer:

I used pro tools for the daw and waves plugins for the editing .

Which production tools and plugins would you recommed to aspiring producers?
Answer:

Well the main production daw for making beats for me is FL studio. That's my favorite thus far although I've tried others. My favorite plugin right now is the waves doubler..man it's really the sauce for my vocals to be wider and a fuller sound.

What is the best advice you've received to improve the production quality of your music?
Answer:

My producer 'King Chai' told me don't be afraid to try new things. Try every style you can. Never stop learning the art of music. This has actually been the reason I've continued to advance, even after No Temptation, he was like that's coo but you can do better. Keep challenging yourself.

What was the biggest drawback when producing this track?
Answer:

Honestly it wasn't any. This track was easy..just because of how personal the lyrics were. It made it fun.

What is your favorite instrument to work with, and why?
Answer:

Well I'm a drummer first and always. That's where I got my first taste of musician and artist. So my love and passion for drums will be forever.

What production elements do you believe are necessary to making a great song?
Answer:

I honestly believe taking your time and creating the best performance of your voice as possible. Like studying other musicians and how much time they take to put in recording, making sure every single note is correct means a lot. So never rush the creation process, allow yourself to flow.

What is the most random sound you have included within one of your tracks? Where did you find it, and how did you implement it?
Answer:

Lol so when I was 18 I produced this soundtrack called Skitzo for my boy 'B Wash'. Well he had a minor skit in the middle of the song, right before the last verse which says step out of the skin..so to make it sound realistic as though he was steeping out, we opened and slammed this squeaky door to the entrance of the studio. We recorded that sound and Wala it was perfect and creepy at the same time.

Describe the fastest time in which you completed the writing and production process.
Answer:

Man it was one session where me and my boy 'VIP' recorded 5 songs in one night. Now none of these tracks were previously heard, but my boy 'JackEL' was like y'all have 45 mins for each song. Literally we listened to the beat on loop for 10 mins. Each of us wrote our verses and came up with the hook as we hopped on the track. It was crazy because I didn't expect to ever do such a thing, but again pushing yourself for greater in those type of moments, can really shine light on your skills and talent. The songs came out fire and the experience was one for the books. Literally made an EP in under 5 hours.

Which production elements did you prioritize while working on this track? Is there anything you really wanted to stick out to listeners?
Answer:

The most important part was the lyrics. I want the listeners to understand the message, so I made sure 'King Chai' got my vocals to sit clear in the mix. My favorite parts are the random ad libs that ad flavor. It's like a little dab of pepper here and a little seasoning salt there.

If you could choose anyone to produce one of your tracks, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Kind of hard considering I have so many great producers I've looked up to. But Rodney ' Dark Child ' Jerkins has always been one person I wanted to get in the studio with. The way he's sculpted hits, and many today are still relevant like Destiny's Child say my name, or Kurt Franklins Revolution.. I just always aspired to make timeless hits. And his sound has always resonated with my sound. I just feel like we could create something special.
