El'din Perspective on 3 Meter Rain
love 😂
I like to listen to all genres of music and some of my favorite songs come from the most obscure genres of music. right now though, i've found myselff listening to a lot of old school soul music. Brook Benton, Nina simone etc..
Kenny "Babyface" Edmons. I respect him alot singer/songwriter and producer. working with Babyface is definitely up there.
I explore many themes throughout my music but with this upcoming project *wink wink* I am trying to focus on exploring the theme of love, more specifically the want/need and can give/provide aspects of love. I personally feel that those are the points in love and relationhips where the most passion exists and passion is always good. How this presents itself in my songs are through lyrics, like in my last song Over, where im pleading with a lover to come on over (the want) with promises of delivering passion and ectasy (the give/provide).
For 3 meter Rain the want and need is me pleading my case for a chance at new love and the provide/give elements are my promises to give that love back tenfold and aand champion and defend it with every fabric of my being.
Hey y'all my name is Elvis, I go by the stage name El'din and you can find me on IG as elvis_like_presley. I am a singer/songwriter hailing from Liberia West Africa and currrently based out of Philadelphia. I love to sing and I love to write and tell stories as well. My goal with my music is to share my unique perspective on life and love with you the listerner.
3 Meter Rain is the culmination of my early RNB influences. As a late 90's kid, I grew up listening to and falling in love with late 90's early 2000's RNB. Joe, Craig David, Usher, Babyface, Lionel Richie, Ne-Yo to name a few formed the sound track to my life growing up in Liberia andd 3 meter rain is the culmination of that. The 1 through 10 style chorus where i go through the numbers 1 through 10 and build off of each number with a line was heavily influenced by, one of my favorite Rnb songs growing up, Craig David's 7 Days.
My earliest memory of listening to music is just after the Liberian civil war. During this time life was highly unstable and we had very few luxuries and watching T.V was not one of them. However, I remember that day, a couple months after the war had ended, when we got our first tv and cable and immediately turned on MTV, LMAO, I still remember the song playing that day and it was Marc Anthony's you sang to me! That was one of the first songs I learned all of the lyrics to, that and Enrique's Hero!
This song plays heavily into the Rnb and neo-soul genres although I think there are some ballad moments and it has just a touch of some pop elements.
