Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My artist name is Luh Naj & I make music Underground Rap to be specific.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

My background plays into this song a lot because I made it about one of the people thats really close to me in my personal life & i can just relate to this song for various personal reasons as to relationship problems, etc.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My earliest memory of listening to music was when i was very little maybe like 3-4 yrs old & i'd always be riding in the car with my dad listening to old Lil ayne songs & Hotboys, All of that type music was playing around me mostly by my father at a very young age.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

When I was in 7th grade i really realized i wanted to be a artist & took the first steps toward it by doing research on all the different recording softwares that you could use mobile because at the time i had a small chromebook with no mic or anything like that just a phone and wired apple headphones, But then 8th grade came and i found out about Bandlab & Garageband so i started using Bandlab and its been up since then really.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Its Underground Hiphop but to go into specifics of the genre i'd say its more of a jerk type beat but its more unique because it doesnt have the same kicks & 808's of a generic jerk but has the same type of feel & sound to it in a way.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

Since the last 3 years when i first started recording its been a huge evolution & ive improved 30x since then for sure, my name & everything has changed since then , My old artist name was K Minaj but then i changed it sometime mid last year to Luh Naj which is my current artist name & what im most likely going to stick to for the rest of my career. But just the music & fashion & just everything in general has completely changed in the last 3 years now i take a lot of influence from punk rock bands i used to just take influence from simple hiphop. I've broaded what i listen to a lot also just everything really has changed in some way.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I definitely try to take some influence from the punk rock genre but i also do me, i just do & put out whatever im liking or feeling that day really it could be anything i feel.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

The artist i'd want to hangout with & go on tour with is most likely osamason. I relate to his music & the subjects he promotes & puts out.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

Just young n**** music honestly, Flex Musix one of my fav albums just tells you in the title what the music is gonna be. Just shit you turn up to.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Would definitely be a playboi carti concert i always used to watch them & i remeber i'd just be like damn this n**** really rocking the stage like that, I dream to be doing shit like that one day really.

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

Saying my favorite song i ever made is really hard because theres so much ive made & sm shit i fuck with probably on the same level as the next but definitely some of my favorites are Want Need, No Way, Lose Ya, Feeling Me, & Maybach Musik

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Only 3 artists is really hard because i listen to so much but if i could say 3 it would probably be osamason, Me (Luh Naj) , And ken carson

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

Similar to a carti performance with the cult fans & the moshpits & the aura things like that but just my version. With my swag, i have so much ideas and shit i wanna show these people, just cant wait for these next years

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

As of right now it would either be Osamason or Playboi Carti

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

I want people to just feel the vibe im giving them & yea just feel what im saying & whatever vibe im trying to give out in that song.

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Talented, Turnt, Unique

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

Probably just dropping on all platforms & getting to promote it that way because people tend to flock more to your spotify, apple music, etc. just more professional music services so it feels good whenever i have something new out on all platforms, But also when I occasionally just drop a song on my soundcloud i love also because its like i just have full control over the distributing process & everything like that.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

Yeah my practice is really just reviewing my music & just trying to see any of the flaws or anything i should change or make better in the song. Or just recording obviously is a good way to just get used to the software your using & with your voice also.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

I think about just the times i randomly send a unreleased track to a friend and they get to tweaking like bro this hard asf if this shit dont blow n***** tripping,  just lil shit like that of course i always love when i get feedback from fans and people in general on instagram or etc.

Do you have a distinct way of making music, how do you work?
Answer:

I just grab the headphones and start recording on bandlab (wires apple headphones to be specific) I usually clear my throat & things like that so i can get my vocals to sound as clear as possible on the track.

Walk us through your music creation process, specifically for this song.
Answer:

For this song i just did the same thing i do everytime, just grabbed the headphones n got on bandlab & started recording. But with this beat instead of getting it off of youtube or something i'd do alot before i got it from this prod on IG prod. Placerstar, He's really talented & has worked with a lot of upcoming artists like Yody 4x for example.

Do you prefer working alone or collaborating with others? How does this influence your sound?
Answer:

I definitely prefer recording songs alone like having nobody around me while im recording so i can really let myself loose & make any type of unique sounds/adlibs i love doing. I just feel a lot more comfortable recording alone but when it comes to collaborating with people i always will if i like yourt music.

Do you have any particular methods that help you flush out your creativity while making music?
Answer:

I usually just get high before because that always lets me hear & feel everything with music 10x better then while im sober & i know people say weed makes you do the opposite but for me that shit genuinely works lmao, but yea just smoking before gets me in the zone & mood to record

Which aspect of the writing, production and release process do you enjoy the most?
Answer:

Definitely getting the covers & naming the songs all of that type things because thats where i can really let my creative side out for the track or whatever im trying to drop

How many beats do you produce per month?
Answer:

I dont produce beats but i have alot of producers i know that send me beats monthly for example my friend prod, 4austin he sends me beats all the time maybe 10+ a month if i could try to put a number on it

Which production tools were the most helpful while producing this track?
Answer:

Definitely just my headphones of course my preset & autotune is usually all i need to make a really good track.

Which production tools and plugins would you recommed to aspiring producers?
Answer:

Well for me i know autotune works the best for me & the preset i use things like that, I dont really use too much different things for when im trying to record its usually pretty simple in all.

What is the best advice you've received to improve the production quality of your music?
Answer:

Maybe just upping the actual sound of my vocals in tracks i used to have them more quite but ever since somebody told me i should start upping it & i did & you can just hear me alot better, just makes everything come together more. Or when i changed my preset from my last one my new one you can hear a lot more clarity with.

Which social media platform helps you the most as an artist to reach new listeners?
Answer:

Definitely Instagram, you'll find a lot of different talented ass prods or artists on instagram in group chats and other things like that.

How have you seen platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Youtube etc. influence the music industry today?
Answer:

Definitely ive seen people blow up off of TikTok & Instagram first hand that i was seeing before with only a couple hundred maybe thousand plays on their tracks before they really started promoting and putting their music onto social media

In what ways has social media worked for or against your career as an artist?
Answer:

Its definitely helped a lot in all aspects of it just with finding new artists to collaborate with & new producers, new cover artists, just alot of different things like that i most likely wouldve never found out about if it wasnt for social media (Instagram to be in specifics.)

What social media platform do you think your content performs best on?
Answer:

When it comes to my music streams so far id say either spotify or soundcloud. I get thousands of people sometimes that stream my music on soundcloud and fuck with my shit just seeing that makes me want to go harder 24/7 because i know when i do what i really have planned all of that is just gonna go up but for right now id definitely say my spotify or soundcloud

What platform do you enjoy the most for posting as an artist, and why?
Answer:

Id probably say instagram because of how much different people you can find on that app that have so many different backgrounds and things they do not just that but you get so much different feedback from different opportunities so fast just from being consistent on promoting on instagram.
