Answer:

Phil's musical journey began at the age of 10 when he initiated formal saxophone training within the Maryland public school system. He cultivated his skills at Shiloh Church of God 7th Day in Hyattsville, Maryland, contributing his saxophone talents in both Christian and secular contexts during his youth.

As a versatile and talented individual, Phil French has left an indelible mark on the worlds of Gospel and Jazz. His prowess extends across various domains, including saxophonist, producer, songwriter, arranger, recording artist, and engineer. With an extensive discography and collaborations with industry giants such as The Winans, The Clark Sisters, Fred Hammond, Yolanda Adams, and many others, Phil has demonstrated his exceptional musical abilities.

Phil's latest venture involves a collaboration with longtime friend and fellow musician, Terrence Richburg. Together, they are set to release a groundbreaking CD titled "Everlasting" under the RichEscape Music label. This new project signifies a pivotal moment in Phil's musical journey, building on the accomplishments of his past and elevating everyone involved to the next level.

Reflecting on his early connection with music, Phil fondly remembers the magnetic pull of the saxophone at the age of 10. Despite suggestions to explore other instruments while waiting for eligibility, he patiently waited, drawn to the saxophone's allure even before playing it for the first time.

Phil's performances are diverse, spanning weddings, conferences, festivals, jazz venues, and churches. His belief that music transcends boundaries, such as race, denomination, religion, and color, is evident in his dedication to using music as a universal language. Above all, Phil's primary goal is to bring glory to God through the gifts bestowed upon him. Recognizing that all talents come from God, Phil seeks to honor Him through his musical expressions.
