Jay Nitz Perspective on Supposed To Be

I am Jay Nitz. I tell stories about my life and experiences over beats.

Heartbreak is one of those unfortunate things that happens in our lives. Sometimes the people we love don't reciprocate that back. Sometimes the people we love... they love other people... and thats not how its supposed to be. This is just one of my painful love experiences.

I remember as a kid going to block parties where the whole neighborhood was vibing out, having fun, dancing drinking and eating.

I've always loved music... as far as being an artist myself, that didn't come to fruition until 2020. I was dealing with depression, homelessness, and joblessness. I was thinking about how disappointed i was with my life because i had always tried to please everyone else. I felt i wasn't living my life for me. So i started writing... then i started recording... I started feeling like the dream i had as a child could be a reality. so i poured everything i could into making music and it changed my life entirely.

R&B... With a melodic Hip Hop delivery.

3 years ago... i focused mainly on rapping. Now i'm more melodic with my delivery.

Life, love, healing and overcoming obstacles

There was an articlewritten about my song Toxic a few years. Toxic was a song about domestic violence

I served in the military.

Yes. My son is Autistic. I continue making music to show him that anything is possible as long as your willing to put in the work and believe in yourself

I want to touch lives with my music and have my music span generations like Michael jackson and 2Pac

One day I was on Twitch and I saw this artist from Australia named Jimmy Auteur making a song. So me being curious I went to his stream and i really liked the beat he was working on. He was struggling a bit to finish the second verse but he was about half way through. I made a bet with him that if i could write and record a verse before he finished the verse he had to put me on the song but if I couldn't do it i would subscribe to his channel and donate some subs to help his channel. He accepted and then sent me the beat. I spent about 9 minutes writing the verse and was able to record the song and send it off to him to mix it in 6 minutes. That song is called "Call on Me by Jimmy Auteur feat. Jay Nitz

I wrote "Supposed To Be" without a beat and then i built a reference beat around my vocals. Then my good friend and collaborator DDiltz Productions gave the beat life by adding his production expertise. Then i recorded my vocals for the first verse. I was a bit nervous about recording because I am new to singing, I normally just rap but i wanted to give it a try. I actually ended up taking about a month to finish the song because the feature backed out on the hook and i hadn't written one. So after staring at my notepad for many hours writing and erasing stuff, i finally had a break through and put together what i felt was a great hook and second verse. The inspiration behind the song was from a past relationship i had that did go how i had wished it had gone.

I still have stories to tell and people to reach.

Creating or finding a beat to bring out the best writing for a song.

Love, Life, Relationships, Growth... As i got older I became more conscience of the message i was putting out there.
