Who are you and what do you do?

Answer:

I am Querit aka KECH22. I am an emcee from Brownsville in Brooklyn, NY. I am an 80's baby and from an era of hiphop known as the boom bap generation. I am inlove with hiphop culture in all facets.

How does your background play into this song?

Answer:

This song is an ode to success and what and who we must leave behind to reach it. Its an attitude of leaving everything but its metaphoric as it really just symbolizes the lifestyle i want to be done with.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?

Answer:

Living in East NY Brooklyn, my Tio and Titi used to jam out and I still remeber my minds playin tricks on me being a consistent theme...along with MC Hammer, Father MC, Color Me Badd etc haha

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?

Answer:

The moment I heard It Ain't Hard To Tell by Nas, I was about 14

What genres does this release play into?

Answer:

Hiphop but kind of dark mello themed

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?

Answer:

Staying consistent is the most important thing to me so I would say every year I get better so in the last 3 I can honestly say my growth lyrically is impressive.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?

Answer:

Life. Anything relative to issues that truly impact us. Its cool to dance but its also a time to know when the music stops its back to reality!

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?

Answer:

Busta Rhymes. I love his energy on stage and in everything he does.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?

Answer:

They are the originators of so many styles people love today, and have always been ahead of their time, BONE!

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?

Answer:

I am a mixture of lyrical, story telling, club banger making emcees with my own twists, tones and style.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?

Answer:

Busta Rhymes, again....his energy is crazy!

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?

Answer:

Lih Lih because its self prophesying and becoming reality more and more

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?

Answer:

Tupac, Big, Jayz substance, stories, and party hits!
