Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

YaBoySteveT is an independent artist from Warren, Michigan.  Growing up just north of 8 mile, YaBoySteveT was inspired by a lot of Detroit artists.  He has released a series of collaborative mixtapes with an independent label he is the co founder or called Medikal Recordz.  The "Medikation" series mixtapes were the spark of the flame and there is plenty more fire to come! 

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

This song was a collaborative effort from YaBoySteveT and his friend and local artist MailRunItUp.  Together they crafted this tracked inspired by the struggles of being an artist and doubted by others 

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I've always been inspired by music since a child but my first introduction to music was 5th grade band.  I played the trombone and learned music theory a bit and reading music.   Middle school 7th or 8th grade I dabbled with ejay and Magix music maker, then later after dabbled into fl studio, reason and DAWs like Cubase/GarageBand.  

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

When people listen to my music, I want them to feel some type of emotion.  I'm all about my music having a message. 

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

Other than being an artist, I am a self employed small property preservation business owner. I also am a self taught beat maker, mixing engineer, producer.  

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Being an artist has taught me that showing love and support can go a long way. It also has had a way of humbling you and showing you that nothing comes easy,  hard work and persistance always pays off!

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

I continue to make music for myself because it is my passion to help others and my music is an expression of my self and things I have been through and for my friends/family/fans, that have been around since day one and always have believed in me.
