Sun Way Street Perspective on BURN IT DOWN

Sun Way Street is an international duo consisting of singer-songwriter Steven Eli and multi instrumentalist Leor Manelis. Their first 3 song EP was released on September 15, 2023 with new singles every month after.
In 2020, the duo met online amidst a pandemic while trying to stay creative during a very uncertain time in the world. Steven, hailing from Ireland and Leor residing in the mountains of Colorado, connected remotely and have been writing songs together, even releasing an LP in 2022 called “You”. Fast forward to 2023, Steven hopped on a plane and flew to Colorado to meet Leor in person for the very first time. Within hours of meeting, they were tracking inspired tracks in Leor's studio and later moved to local hotspot Coalesce Audio Studios with master Engineer David Wilton to finish out the songs. They brought in accomplished Colorado musicians like Megan Burtt (vocals), Adrienne Short (violin) and Tyler Cuchiara (piano) to add new flavors to the songs.
Plans for live shows in spring/summer 2024 in the US and Europe.

Indie Rock/Indie/Alt Rock

Our music comes out in various forms, sometimes slow, sad, acoustic folk songs, and sometimes loud indie rock songs. We are both influenced by so much music that it really comes out in our songwriting.

We are often compared to artists like Damien Rice, Gregory Alan Isakov, and other light indie rock bands (Twenty One Pilots, Sam Fender).

We both remember being highly influenced and excited by bands when we were teenagers and into our 20s. We really don't know any other way of life without creating music all the time. It's not just a hobby, it's a way of life and when you surround yourself with musical instruments, you can't help but sit at a keyboard or pick up a guitar and start to write a song.

Less is more and don't try and write a hit. Write a song that's personal and meaningful to you as the artist.

Financially speaking, the music industry is very lop sided. You need a crazy number of streams on streaming platforms just to earn a little bit of money that doesn't even cover your recording costs. I would love to see a way professional and semi-professional musicians could actually make at least minimum wage for working on music daily.
