Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

JayDabz born Kyle Jay Accardo, is an American Rap Artist whos main focus is bringing positive emotion, and lyricism back to life while simultaneously telling stories of his lifes ups and downs! Aside from composing the original instramentals for his tracks Jay does all audio, and video work fully independently on his phone via Bandlab.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

This specific track "F.O.F' which stands for "Facts Over Fiction" is all about how Jay reflects on himself and will always speak his mind regardless how it makes others feel. 

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My earliest memory of listening to music is when i was 8 years old, and my older brother Noah tought me how to do soulja boys crank that dance, i wasnt the biggest fan of soulja boy at all but it did peak my ineterest to look around until i found music that i really did like such as wu-tang clan, black thought, big pun and so many more great artists.

Answer:

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

In April of 2022, i had expressed to my closest friend Inky Steve at the time that i had always wanted to persue making music because of the deep connection i have with music, i lack almost everywhere else in life... composing music gave me a greater sense of purpose and helped me break out of my comfort zone! So if you have a goal others don't believe that you can achieve maybe you need new friends not new goals. 

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

This song is a chill-hop/ medatative song...

(Side Note) I refuse to let any genre hold me to a label.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

I've currently been creating music for just shy of two years and i can honestly say my sound is starting to find its right placement, as well as my music quality has only improved over time.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I dont specifically have a theme/persona... I'm just being myself, speaking on my family love, positivity, gettin through tough times together, and my love for music and cannabis.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

If i could go on tour with any artist i would love to one day go on tour with R.A. The Rugged Man, or MF DOOM but obviously thats no longer possible sadly.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

First of all my favorite artist is big pun, and if i had to describe his music to anyone i would have to say its catchy and metaphors on top of bars on top of nostalgia.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

My music is a mixture of struggle rap, trap rap, and underground sound. I try to take mainstream sounding instramentals and blow peoples minds with the way i flow being unususal compared to the average/stereotypical rappers.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

I would have to attend a Big Pun/ Big L performance.

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

My favorite song i've made, is Follow Your Heart, in all sense of the title name always follow yout heart! This song was one of my earlier made and i put so uch thought into what was said it felt like the first track i made well by myself.

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Tupac for his relatable words of wisdom, Sleepy Hallow for his chill hard hitting vibes, and MF DOOM for being one of the realist and most down to earth lyrical artists of all time as well as beiing a massive motivation to my own music production.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

My dream preformance is me preforming for my future childeren, and showing them not all music in the rap industry has to be about guns, drugs, and money!

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

Theres too many to even count... BIg L, Big Pun, R.A. The Rugged Man, Twisted Insane, MF DOOM, 2pac, Biggie, Shock G, King Iso, X-Raided, ICP, Brotha Lynch Hung, Nipsey Hussle, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg and many many more.

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

On the Pacific Ocean Peer in Pacifica, California.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

I want people to be able to relate in a way they can actually sit and listen to me closley and also simply hear the mood and vibe along.

Answer:

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

I share my music mainly via IG videos i make and post as my own form of music promo.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

I rhyme in my head and out loud all day long off and on, it is hard at times and others it comes to me effortlessly.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

When i had a producer (Yung Nab) reach out to me after hearing on of my songs on soundcloud and asked if he could send me some instramentals in exchange for producer credit, so no finances were exchanged but we both can grow simultaneously.

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

I personally believe success is when u can make people happy with your product period. theres no level of success i feel is achieveable to a point where i can stop or retire because theres always more to be done, and more money to be made. Even if i do retire i refuse to lie down and die even if it makes me no money; it makes me happy to help people or simply do things to keep myself moving and motivated.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I plan on being a gamechanger by not being held to any 1 genre label. Life is about diversity. 

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

I believe aside from composing music i can always be of benefit to my friends, family, and even myself. Thats my first goal always.

What has been your scariest experience while pursuing music?
Answer:

Constantly having no money, but givin my current living situation i dont have any other oppritunities to to make money being i watch childeren 6 of 7 days a week, keep our home clean, and make my music for me and the people.

What has been your most embarassing moment while pursuing music?
Answer:

Going back to hear some of my first ever songs and showing them to homies to compare my sound from then to now. Long story short the first few were horrible 

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

No more mumble rap that sounds like someone yelling into a fan to get autotune.

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

I have experience in almost all construction work required to build houses, I worked as a customer service rep. at dollar genereal in Dos Palos and i have also drivin harobed (Hauling Hay) for 2 separate companies over 4 years. Ive also done alot of personal or off the books jobs, more than on the books jobs.    Im not above it or anything but i don't plan to work for anyone but me ever again.

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?
Answer:

I also enjoy editing my own cover art, music video which i learned to do prior to starting my path down this musical road. 

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

Somewhat, my life has almost always been lonely and the few relationships i have had crumbled, and i only have 1 maybe two REAL friend/Day 1s!!

How would you define having an artistic outlook on life?
Answer:

I can find beauty in almost anything its just how you choose to look at somthing. If u dont like how somthing is change ur prespective and come back to it with an open mind, because doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result is literally the definition of insanity.

What is your favorite work of art?
Answer:

REVERIE my album released just beforre the end of the new year, it is a good representation of my work as well as it is recent.

Answer:

Don't ever underestimate your capabilities especially if you've never tried before or only tried a few times...

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

I don't ever want to work for anyone else ever again because every job iv'e ever had ive been screwerd by my boss... its either massive coincidences or my bosses just like making me work and refusing to pay me for my worked hours.

What is your overarching goal as an artist?
Answer:

My Overarching goal is to be better tommorw than i am today and each day progress not only as an artist but as a man, as a friend, and most importantly as a person.
