What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

They have the role to influence our kids our future!!

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My father would play Carlos Santana all the time. In fact he is the reason i love music so much. My father loved to sing and play percussion instruments such as ; Bongo and Conga drums. He is very talented I enjoyed watching him play along with the music. He made it seem as if he was a part of the band with Carlos Santana. 

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

Melodic Rap

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

You have to  LOVE this music ish man!! Takes tough skin!! Y'all like this ish - I LOVE this ish = THE DIFFERENCE!!!

What is your favorite work of art?
Answer:

Any picture of the Downtown Kansas City night time skyline!!! It's even better in person if you ever get to see it!!!

Answer:

MO3, E 40, and Kanye West

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

I have worked fast food, warehouse, call centers, and door to door sales.

If you could alter the music industry in any way, what would you change and why?
Answer:

If I could alter the music industry it would be more talent and less clout. The music industry is clout based now no more real talent is sought out in the music industry now a days.

What has been your most embarassing moment while pursuing music?
Answer:

I once released a song and the wav file I uploaded to my distribution company the drum pattern was off beat!! i had to immediately remove the song before anyone heard it.

What has been your scariest experience while pursuing music?
Answer:

I'm in the most scariest moment in my life right now!!! I'm negotiating signing to a label!! I'm scared that I will sell myself short or they wont see my potential!!

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I was raised by a single father. My mom and dad had gotten divorced while I was in elementary school. This was a very painful period of my life. I began to do things that a child should not do. This song is to take a glimpse into the dark past of "Dee Leegit"

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

"Hate Me Now" by puff daddy and nas. You know you made it when the haters come!!!

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Tupac Shakur. The reason why I say him is because he is passionate about his music making an impact just like me. The mutuality we have in our passion is what draws me to his music.

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I will always be true to myself!! I will always strive for originality!! I can do everything something most artists can't do!

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

My idea of success as an artist is being able to provide for my family from doing music full time. Nothing better than doing something you love as a living.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

All of them are memorable!! But, the ones that mean the most are the ones that encourage me to continue and never stop and i will be famous one day soon!!!

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

I share my music a lot on social media platforms. My favorite way to share my music is on music review shows!!! This is how I earn supporters and loyal fans letting them hear my music before anyone else does.

What three words would you want your fanbase to use to describe you?
Answer:

Fearless, Dedicated, and Relatable

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

I want them to feel like they aren't alone. I want them to feel like they have someone to relate with. 

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

I would like to do a song with is Carlos Santana!!! i love guitars and live band music.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

A sold out show at the T Mobile Center Downtown Kansas City!! Everyone singing along and crowd surfing!!!

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

Tupac, E 40, and Andre 3000. The reason why I say these artists because they are pioneers to how music is today!!

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

U R (accoustic version)- The way I expressed and confessed my love for the woman in my life. Its a beautiful song!

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

I would like to go on tour with Rod Wave!! I love how he is fearless and isn't afraid to tell his story.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

The way my music has evolved over the last 3 years is dramatic!! I have since gotten better and will continue to get better!!! The quality of the music is what has changed the most. I'm also beginning to let people get to know me through my music.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

In 2002 i had went to my first studio ever!! It was a professional studio 64111 studios (Jaz Brewer) multi award winning studio. When I heard myself coming out of the speakers for the first time!!! I knew this is something I always had a passion for and made it my dream to make an impact with my music.

Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

My name is Dee Leegit. I am a producer, artist, and engineer.

What is your overarching goal as an artist?
Answer:

Being Happy finacial, spiritual, mental, and physical wealth and health!! Being able to provide for other's, besides my family!! I'm tired of driving pass homeless people and, me barely having enough change to give them because I also have to provide for my own family. This world is crazy I was sent here to tell my story and bless the people I cross paths with.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

The passion I have to impact the industry and being a student of the industry... It's a journey!! I'm down for the RIDE!!!
