702 Thrillz Perspective on Country Girl

Being a perfectionist.

I grew up on Motown. My mom would play all the Motown classics in the car when I was a kid.

I come from a family of entertainers. Music is in the blood. My mother toured the world as an entertainer. I knew my whole life that I was an artist.

This song is what happends if country music and Hip hop had a kid.

My style is always evolving. I honestly don’t notice to be honest. As artist, we go through things like everyone else. When I write music, I dig deep into my soul. What comes out, normally is what’s inside.

I am all about making music that brings people together.

So many to pick from I am not sure were to even start.

I wouldn’t. Music is in the eye of the listener.

I would describe the concept of the song to them and hope they enjoy it.

Simple. A stage with a band, and a stadium full of fans.

I love to do a song with Bruno Mars.

Casino floor.

I would want my fans entertained when listening to my music.

Online

I rehearse in the think tank.

Disbelief. People don’t normally believe that I do music judging based on my looks.

I define success as an artist by the amount of positive feedback I get from my fans.

By being my self and not something I am not.

The ability to take a fan away from their everyday problems by providing a source of relatable entertainment.

She love me, She love me knot.

Getting writers block.

Not delivering on a song that I have memorized.

There has to be a platform like American Idol for hip-hop artist.

US Army Soldier, Mixologist, Uber Driver, and Security Manager.

Yes. Any and all motivation helps.

No. I counteract by finding balance. All work and no play leads to a bad day.

Roll with the follow.

Music.

Have a team.

To headline a sold out show.

I have an area in my garage I call the think tank. I play a beat, and I start to write to it.

The 1st verse to this song was written for another song. The other song a story about a man who can’t make up his mind between two women. My producer loved the verse and suggested that I add it to Country Girl.

I started rapping in a hip hop group in high school (TSC)= Team Smooth Click. I love rapping with others. It makes me better musically. Collaborating with others, causes me to become competitive, but in a friendly lets make the song better sort of way.

I can do oldschool pen and pad to get my ideas out, but I perfer a computer with word on it.

I love the writting part.

Memorize the lyrics before you record them.

There is something to be said about the whistle. The whistle really brought out the western theme to the song.

People like to say that a good beat makes a good song. I disagree. Beats are like canvases that artists paint on. Some artists paint well, while other artists will hand you back a Picasso and call it a hit record. With that being said, it’s all about what you put on the canvas. It’s all about what lyrics are being written for the canvas. So songwriting is at the base of my artistry.

Certain beats create inspirational moments that motivate one to write a song quickly. I don't measure the speed in which a song is written, but the quality in which a song is written. More often than not, I would complete a song without even having a beat for it. Then the challenge is to find a canvas to put my masterpiece on.

Timberland, DJ Just Blaze, and 9th wonder.
Everything Timberland touches turns to gold. I am a huge fan of his work with other artists.
DJ Just Blaze is someone I saw live when I lived in Korea.
9th Wonder has a style that I can really relate to.

I am an old soul in a young body. I am not a fan of social media, however, I do enjoy using Instagram. I find Instagram to be user friendly for folks like myself.

I think my music is a good fit for all social media platforms.

I am not a fan of social media. I do however see how effective it is in reaching a global audience. When your not as active on social media as an artist, it can negatively affect your growth as an artist.

Instagram. I find Instagram to be user friendly for folks like myself.

I have songs that I have not released yet that I can see going viral. So the best is yet to come.

I love the feed back I get as an artist both good and bad when I post my music. I do enjoy posting my work for the world to see and hear.

I like to do what my heart compels me to do. I think staying original and being unique is the key to being relevant.

I am a fan of hip hop. I love listening to other independent music artists from my section. Discovering a new song on youtube, is like opening up a gift. Plus, its the best way to get rid of writer's block.

Social media is a blessing and a curse. Social mediaI is a blessing because it literally made the world a whole lot smaller by connecting people with each other who normally would be out of reach. Social media can be a curse because of the negativity it can bring. But with a negative comes a positive, which creates balance. I appreciate both. Hip hop is a journey. I’m just going along for the ride.

I like to listen to new up and coming artist of youtube.

I am a Los Angeles California baby. Shot out to Mr. CR.
LA N**** is the craziest. I love that song.
Also, I do like King lil G's who the F*** shot 2pac.

Writing song lyrics is therapy for me. It's a passion and a drive that requires inspirational moments. When I have those moments, I like to express them musically.

I wrote this song for my mother. She really does not like Hip hop so I wanted to make a song that I knew she would like. My mother also used to dance on Soul Train and I thought about her when I wrote this song if you listen to the lyrics.

My goal was to have Country Girl be a crossover record. I wanted to create a song that would bring folks together from all walks of life.

My biggest influence would have to be my life experiences and the people that I have gotten to know along the way.

What makes a great song are the lyrics and how they make you feel.

My military service and my travels.

The most difficult part of writing a song is the effort made to avoid writer's block. If there was a mask that one could wear that would help prevent writer's block, I would wear it.

Yes and No. My music tells a story. Sometimes the story is not about me, but something I saw.

Lyrics

702Thrillz is what they call me. I am an independent Hip hop artist. I enjoy writing song lyrics to selected beats. My goal is to entertain the world.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. Prior to moving migrating to California, my family came from the south. I am proud of my southern heritage. I was raised on southern hospitality. As such, I grew up with my grandfather listening to George Straight and BB King.
I was served in the US Army, where most of our bases are in the south. With that being said, I have fallen victim to a southern bells charm from time to time.
Also, my mom loves country music. She also used to dance on soul train. So, I had to make a record for moms and her soul train friends to dance to.
