Answer:

My name is 702Thrillz. I am a Hip Hop Artist and songwriter. I enjoy writing song lyrics and performing them over original creative compositions.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

During my travels overseas, mixing and mingling with different cultures motivated me to write this song. One thing that we all have in common in the world is the joy of partying.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

I grew up a Motown baby. So the oldies were goodies in my section.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

It’s hard to say when, but I have been an artist since my mom handed me a blank notebook and told me to write down my thoughts. I think I was seven or eight years old at the time.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

I am a Hip Hop Artist and songwriter at heart, but that doesn’t mean I can’t rock out to other genres. When you’re a lover of music, you learn to appreciate it all. I'd like to think that my music plays into the fans who appreciate a time in hip hop where you can understand the lyrics.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

There is something to be said about thinking the world will end. I started to question myself as an artist. More importantly, I started to ask myself what I will leave behind on this earth as an artist. I started to adopt a now-or-never mentality. So the time to release my music for the world to enjoy is now.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I like to take my audience on a journey. I love telling a story and creating music that the working man can relate to.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

There are so many artists that l like from all genres past and present, I wouldn’t even know where to begin in selecting an artist to tour with because there are so many.

I am a huge Johnny Cash and Amy Whitehouse fan; both have left this earth.

I would love to be in the studio with Smokey Robinson to co-write a song.

But the idea of sharing a stage with Ice Cube would be a dream made into reality.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Music for me is a feeling that one gets from listening. I for one would have a difficult time describing music to someone. So, I would end up playing a song and allowing the song to do the talking for me.

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

I wrote this song called Country Girl. It’s a song that mixes the old with the new. I wrote the song as a tribute to those who came before musically.

This was also a tribute to the soul-train dancers who forever revolutionized our country through dance. My mother was a soul train dancer. So as a tribute to her and her friends, I wrote the song.

It’s a tribute to the country girls of all races around the world past and present. Country Girl is a love story while at the sametime its something eles to everyone. We as American black people, all trace our roots to the South. This was me paying homage to those country girls and the fellas that would chase them.
