About:
Peter Salett's gift for blending memorable pop melodies with an accessibly experimental hodgepodge of rock, folk, soul and country made him a standout performer in the crowded New York City club scene in 90's. Those performances, and his self-produced 1997 debut, Paintings of These Days, caught the attention of the film industry and soon Salett's music began appearing on the soundtracks of movies like Hurricane Streets, and Academy Award nominated actor Edward Norton's hit directorial debut, Keeping the Faith. The latter included two Salett songs, including a prominently featured T-Bone Burnett remix of the title track from Salett's second independent release, Heart of Mine. Following the success of Heart of Mine Salett turned to scoring films, including the Cannes film festival selection Down in the Valley, also starring Edward Norton, which used 5 of his songs. He also wrote songs for Judd Apatow produced Forgetting Sarah Marshall (the famous Dracula puppet musical closing number), and the David Wain directed Role Models (his song Broken and Bent anchors a key montage sequence). He's continued to release music through his own Dusty Shoes Music label - In the Ocean of the Stars, Addicted to Distraction, and Chameleon XP among other releases. Salett recently scored his first thriller, the Blumhouse film 7 in Heaven. In 2022 Salett will be releasing new music under the moniker Blue Palace x Peter Salett.
