About:
Comprising the pseudonymous KG, G-Man, Kule T and Dee-Tails, UK black pop group MN8 made a major breakthrough in 1994 with the release of ‘I’ve Got A Little Something For You’. A strangely threatening swingbeat tune, it nevertheless saw the group, who are based in Surrey, England, become firm favourites with the nation’s teenagers. The follow-up single was ‘If You Only Let Me In’, another example of the group’s catchy swingbeat soul. The accompanying video featured the group’s lascivious dance routines - already one of their most recognizable traits. They subsequently joined Janet Jackson on her European tour and continued to appear regularly on UK television. The group’s 1995 debut album, To The Next Level, demonstrated a greater versatility than might have been anticipated from the group’s singles, and included a Walt Disney -style ballad in ‘Pathway To The Moon’ alongside more soul-based material such as ‘Lonely’ and ‘Happy’.
