Lewis and Leigh –
Al Lewis from Wales and
Alva Leigh from Mississippi – released their debut album
Ghost (Celticana Records) in 2016 to huge critical acclaim both in the UK & Germany. A stunning collection of self-penned originals, ‘Ghost’ was the culmination of a collaboration that began in 2014 when the two solo musicians first began writing together. Produced by Matt Ingram (Laura Marling, Lianne LaHavas) at Urchin Studios in London , ‘Ghost’ celebrated the differences in their individual experiences whilst finding common ground.
2016 proved to be an exciting year for the duo with a performance at Glastonbury, return trip to Nashville, syncs in Netflix's 'Bloodline,' HBO's 'Roadies' and NBC's 'Trial & Error,' the album at number 1 on the Amazon Folk Chart pre-order, a performance on Germany's most popular music TV show 'Ina's Nacht' and a 20 date sold-out tour opening for Deacon Blue.
2017 was to be another successful year for the duo. They won 'Best UK Album' and 'Best UK Song (The 4:19)' at the UK Americana Music Awards. They headlined a 25 date European tour which included a BBC Radio 2 live broadcast from Celtic Connections and ended with dates in Denmark, Spain and Germany. They also opened for Jools Holland, returned to Cambridge Folk Festival and performed once again on the Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury.
