Garden Gate is the baroque psych project of Philadelphia artist Timmi Meskers - following her time with
Brown Recluse and
White Candles, Meskers’ work took on a darker tone with the release of the Houses single under the Garden Gate moniker on Good Behavior Records. Finding inspiration in dreams and the tarot, her experiments in channeled composition culminated in the
Dark Harvest LP on Sunstone Records (UK) and Golden Brown (US), a loose concept album about a haunted mansion. Dark Harvest was met with praise in the UK psychedelic music press, and was followed shortly thereafter by
Bonfires, an instrumental release mining folk horror and library music exploring similarly autumnal motifs.
The
Red Moon single shares themes from non-existent horror film Luna Rossa, backed by remixes and alternate versions of pieces from Dark Harvest. The
Flower Crowns EP glories in trans identity and goddess imagery, with its roots in Garden Gate's signature synthesis of 1960s-influenced arrangements and gothic romance.
Often working with producer Mark Saddlemire (White Candles, Brown Recluse), Timmi and Mark reunited to collaborate on a two song single, Postcard.
Timmi recently scored Strange Company, a queer horror anthology, for Audible Originals and is delighted to share Blood Mansion, an original score for the period horror film of the same name.
