About:
I got into the Twin Cities music scene in the late 90s -- playing guitar, writing and singing with all-girl band Interstate Judy. In 2001 I released my first solo record Inviolate. In 2004 I began working on new material for a second CD, and Just a Cherry was released at the end of 2005. After it started making the rounds I was invited to join an England tour in 2007, so I put a band together and the foursome played clubs and theaters from Bristol to London that summer. After returning from England, I continued doing voice overs and singing on other musicians' recording projects and live performances. I continued to write songs as well, collaborating with others and always going for that vibe, that sound, that groove...that intangible something that turns you on about a song. I was going about this in a pretty scattershot way when I began messing around with Logic Pro recording software. Suddenly, instead of relying on others I could make music exactly the way I wanted! This newfound freedom was incredibly energizing and resulted in a new six song EP called Back to Right, released in early 2017. "Only Human", a song from that release, caught the ear of industry pro Tom Carlisle and we began collaborating on remixes, starting with the Only Human Maxi Single.
Since COVID killed my awesome new funk cover band that never really got a chance to get off the ground, I've been trying to do what I can to stay inspired and keep creating sounds that turn me on.
