Hailing from Bedfordshire, England, growing up on the American roots music of her Anglo-Indian grandmother’s record collection, award nominated singer/songwriter Danni Nicholls has been paving her way in UK Americana for over a decade, building a loyal fan base and much critical praise.
From a young age, Danni was soaking up American folk, country and rock n roll music from her Grandmother’s record collection in her small home town of Bedford, UK. When she inherited her Uncle Heathcliff’s 1963 Burns London guitar (rumoured to have belonged to Billy Fury!) aged 16, all those influences came pouring back out in the form of her own original material and has been flowing ever since.
Danni has released three critically acclaimed albums;
A Little Redemption (2013) and
Mockingbird Lane (2015) both of which were produced by bassist/producer Chris Donohue (
Emmylou Harris) in Nashville TN and feature some of the city’s finest musicians including the legendary
Al Perkins (
Bob Dylan,
Gram Parsons)
Will Kimbrough and Steve Fishell.
Danni's third studio album 'The Melted Morning' produced by Jordan Brooke Hamlin (Indigo Girls, Lucy Wainwright Roche) was released April 12 2019 .
