Cobalt Chapel
About:
Cobalt Chapel formed in 2014, the dynamic psych-folk pairing of Cecilia Fage (Matt Berry & The Maypoles) and Jarrod Gosling (I Monster and Regal Worm). The Yorkshire-based pair released their self-titled debut album in 2017; “Gloriously English psych-folk” (Clash), ‘Wonderful and atmospheric” (Uncut), “An eerie piece of Brit-folk” (The Times), “A triumph of womanhood, fantasy, and the imagination… Imagine if the BBC Radiophonic Workshop wrote pop tunes for ABBA” (Echoes And Dust). They made their live debut at Festival No. 6, with tour dates including Green Man Festival, Tramlines Festival, Courtyard Festival, Koko (supporting Matt Berry & The Maypoles), This Is Psychedelia, and a UK mini-tour supporting Dylan Carlson's Earth. Mountain EP was released in 2018, followed by their selection of reimagined album tracks Variants in 2019. They returned in September with their new track Our Angel Polygon, a hypnotic single inspired by a personal fascination with RAF Fylingdales, the ballistic missile early warning centre on the east coast of Yorkshire.
