Claudio Conti is an Italian songwriter.
His main influences come from the sixties L.A.'s and San Francisco's psychedelic rock scenes as well as songwriters from the same decade such as Tim Buckley, Tim Hardin, Gene Clark, John Lennon, Gram Parsons, Andy Partridge and Nick Drake.
His first recordings are a collage of songs called "Botticelli" dated 2003 but was never released.
His first EP was "Handmaids Skim The Marble" in 2008 followed by another EP in 2009 "Northern".
Between 2011 and 2013 he was in a project band, "Magic Salad" for whom he wrote all the songs and lyrics.
They put out an album with no label called "Every Forest Has Its Shadow".
After a two-year hiatus living in different cities like Chicago, Los Angeles and London he returned to Italy and released officially his first solo album, "
Saltworks", recorded in 2013-14 and promoted by the label Seahorse Recordings.
Displaying a bucolic and nostalgic bent, his debut obtained very positive critiques by known Italian magazines.
In 2016-17 he recorded and completed the production of his following album, "
Garnet Dusk", always with the same label.
It is a very personal album about various chaotic experiences occurred in his early-mid thirties.
It was internationally acclaimed, obtaining excellent reviews both in UK and in the US but has remained on a low profile.
His upcoming album, "Frail Boats" will be officially released on April 17, 2020 with no record label.
It is definitely his most mature and ambitious record.
