About:
These genres of Pop/Alternative Rock continue to play in her head. Growing up in Nigeria, Charity Ekeke sang in a choir and saved her gift money to buy a Record Song Book every six months. This book had songs from The Beatles, Jimmy Reeves, Nat King Cole, Cliff Richards, The Everly Brothers, Tom Jones and many others mostly British Artists. Learning these songs was how she spent her free time. In the US, she listened to all kinds of music.
About 25 years ago, Charity took a demo to a Music Producer in New York who told her she had to move to New York. With her marriage on the rocks, she asked herself, what do I do with my children? The well-being of the children always took center stage especially as a single parent. Hence, the aspiration to be a Recording Artist gradually subdued. She stayed in Healthcare as an RN with varied experience from bedside to management and back to bedside. Now works per diem as a Critical Care RN while she pursues her creative impulses. The children now well-adjusted and self-directed, Charity has her life back as she likes to say with license to do whatever her heart desires.
Here is to authenticity, to perseverance, to passion, to maintaining focus, and to technology. After a BSN from St. Louis University, she spent two quarters at the Art Institute of Atlanta studying Music Entertainment Management before getting an MFA from USC.
Released She in 2016 and LiFe in 07/2020.
