Singer-songwriter and producer, Anna Elizabeth Laube, creates what NPR described as "Intimate, heartfelt songs rooted in traditional Americana." Her new collection,
Annamania, was released in 2021 and highlights the best of her previous studio albums and singles, as well as including a new song entitled "
Jardim da Estrela." Americana UK wrote of the album, “Some people just seem to have the right, deft touch to craft beautiful songs across a range of styles. Anna Elizabeth Laube is one of these master crafters of song."
🌿
Laube (pronounced Lau like "how" and be like "bee") was raised in the Midwest on classical music,
Aretha Franklin, and
The Beatles, and started playing the guitar in high school after hearing an
Indigo Girls song. Soon thereafter, she started writing songs and recorded her first album,
Outta My Head, released on her own label.
🌴
Laube toured extensively, traveling the USA and selling records out of the trunk of her Prius, inspired by DIY folk artists like
Ani DiFranco and
Sean Hayes. Three more records followed:
Pool All The Love * Pool All The Knowledge,
Anna Laube (released shortly before she started using her full name), and
Tree, as well as multiple singles including collaborations with
Chuck Leavell,
AG,
Chris Joyner,
Anthony Lazaro, and
Katie Buchanan.
